Miriam Benezra of the 9400 block of Kedvale Avenue in Skokie was pronounced dead at 3:54 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The driver of the Mercedes, Menjur Sunje, 55, of the 6300 block of North Sheridan, and the Nissan's driver, Ganiu Ajakaiye, 29, of the 7000 block of North Sheridan, were each ticketed for failing to exercise due care to a pedestrian in a roadway.
Benezra, a photography student at Oakton Community College in Skokie and a graduate of Niles North High School, had just parked her car near Loyola and was trying to cross the street to board a CTA train to downtown when she was struck, said Ann Miller, who has known Benezra for years. Source.

* One Killed, Two Ticketed
I've been getting a lot of google searches for this topic.

A free park and ride just isn't worth the ultimate price. Sad.
It's obvious that the second driver that hit her is going to get his ticket thrown out.
He had nothing to do with this unless he ran a red light.
It's all the fault of the first driver unless the unfortunate woman walked across Sheridan when she had a red light.
We need a much better explanation of this out of the cops!
While the weather was foggy that night, it wasn't pouring, so it seems quite strange that two sober drivers hit someone, unless that person wasn't crossing on a green light. It sounds to me like she walked across on a red, or right before a red. It would also explain why the two drivers who hit her got away so relatively easily.
The second driver had enough to do with the accident as the first. Yes, I would blame the first driver ultimately and I hope they both never sleep. Let's be honest though... the speed limit there is 30mph... by the injuries she had, there was o way the second driver wasn't speeding.
Sock - you ask for an explanation? Ask the first driver why his sideview mirror even came that close to her.
