"Go with me this way"

Chicago Journal News-Star Police Blotter

A 25-year-old man was taken to an alley behind the 6700 block of North Clark Street where he was robbed around 4:30 p.m. May 18 by two men in their early 20s. The victim told police he was in a bank parking lot when a man stuck an object in his side, implying he had a weapon. The man said, "Go with me this way," and walked the victim into an alley where the other man motioned them to follow him. One of the men went through the victim's pockets taking $115. Both men fled southbound through the alley.

I don't believe this guy's story!
The nearest bank is First Commercial at Morse & Clark, about a quarter-mile away.
Are we to believe that he walked that far with a "gun" in his side?
Something else was going on there.
Drug buy gone wrong maybe?
