I was in a house of a friend on Morse Avenue earlier this evening. She called the police when she saw a group of 14 to 15 kids hanging out in the middle of the street. When they reached the end of the block, it looked as if some kind of fight was about to jump off. I wonder if those kids were collected to the ones on Sheridan.
"It's fair to say that violent crime in Chicago is out of control," Gov. Blagojevich said. In certain communities in the city of Chicago, it's reaching epidemic proportions."
Yeah, but not in Rogers Park. Want to see some crime, go to the south or west side.
It's true that the Southside and Westside have it way worse. But crime is crime and especially when it's violent like this, it's not pretty. We can always look elsewhere and say we have it good (ahem, Baghdad?), but there is definitely room for improvement. The way our economy is heading, we should put an end to this all before it gets any worse...
