* Joe Moore's Cheap Magic Act

Is that all Joe Moore's got? Babbling catch phrases. Boorish. Believe me, this is tiring. Joe Moore (Alderman - 49th ward) goes hypocritical on the news yesterday regarding the 2009 City Budget. A budget Mayor Daley has held off on giving to the rubber stamp crew for majority passage.
"One can only speculate what decisions go on on the fifth floor of City Hall," said Ald. Joe Moore (49th), referring to the mayor’s office. "The longer they wait to give us the bad news, the less time we will have to react to that bad news and to take the appropriate actions."
Joe goes on the news and speaks like a complete idiot. He looks the part too. His MO - sound funny, yet convincing. He didn't pull either off. Joe Moore has become the City Council class clown of sound bites. And I for one love to make fun of his dumb comments. I'm glad I was able to save this one for You-Tube Infamy.

Moore wants to speculate? Then I'm allowed to do the same. This situation is much like what Joe Moore did with the Boys and Girls Club information he had. He held the information back. Not wanting to give out the secret plan until it was a done deal and the opposition (ie: the general tax paying public) didn't have a chance to review, debate (possibly alter or tweak) what happened behind closed doors.

Joe, until you're able to practice what you preach - please, shut the hell up. You sound like a complete, talk out of both sides of your mouth, 25 cent magic act. Or as Bill Morton calls you, the Alder-Joker.

Blognotes: On a more serious note. One day after the Sun-Times ran the story on Tony Peraica and some shady campaign contributions. After being exposed, Tony Peraica has wisely decided to return the tainted money. Good for him.

One day after Joe Moore was exposed for taking $14,500 from a dead-beat dad posing as a real estate developer in exchange for Moore's support for a lucrative zoning change and the demolition of the former Adelphi Theater, Joe Moore has yet to acknowledge he had a similar problem. Crude insensitivity still clouds Joe Moore's judgement.

Joe Moore, do the right thing. Return the campaign contributions from Cedomir "Chad" Zuric. Don't let those Republicans prove they're more ethical than a self-proclaimed, progressive democrat like yourself.

If ethics isn't your bag - do it for the children. Prove to us you really care about the children.

I've long thought that Moore was unethical, but in light of the Adelphi scandal, I also realize that he is amoral.

I don't want that scoundrel is representing me on the City Council.

Can he rise above the corruption which is breaking our backs with ever higher taxes?

Can he resist the temptation to sell his vote?
