9:53 PM - Thursday Evening: Shots rang out at Jonquil and Ashland. That's right. This is the second night in a row this has happened at this location. Almost like clockwork. Neighbors heard 5 to 6 shots. When police arrived on scene, they located shell casings, confirming there were actually shots fired. The alleged shooter is a black male, about 21 years old, about 5 foot 9 inches tall and about 250 lbs.
Blognotes: Three gun murders in Rogers Park already this year. Countless shots fired. (I've personally blogged about 22 'shots fired' calls this year.) Beatings. Muggings. Robberies. Goonings. Gang fights. Lawlessness from kids roaming the streets without parental supervision after curfew. If this is going on during the week, can you imagine what the hot weekend will bring?
When is that coward we call Joe 'Crime is Down' Moore going to address this serious epidemic of crime that has been plaguing his ward since he took office over 15 years ago? Or, will Joe 'The Coward' Moore continue to remain silent and stay in hiding because he counts on these lawbreakers to vote for him every four years? Lawbreakers like his assistant in his 49th ward office named Anne Sullivan.

Shots fired Wednesday about 10:53 p.m. Shots fired Thursday about 9:53 p.m. Friday 4:15 a.m. 20 to 30 young men clad in baggy white t-shirts and jeans are allowed to gather on the corner of Bosworth and Jonquil Terrace. Why are they allowed to continually gather and loiter on street corners? Why don't we have increased police patrols in the area? 2 shootings 2 nights in a row. Drug dealing every day on Paulina and Howard and at Pete's Grill in the el station. Dice games every day. Where is the Alderman? What is he doing?

Right - why don't they break up these groups of thugs? Put some chairs in Moore's lawn and let them gather there for games.
