And Daley is saying he may need to do layoffs of the police force due to a budget imbalance that apparently has enough money in it for lawyers to waste their time defending the unconstitutional gun law, that only succeeds in making law abiding citizens easy targets for criminals.
Hey, you elected him! You reap what you sow. In any event, he will not layoff any police. This is a tactic he uses when his lawyers are negotiating a new contract which they have been doing since the last one expired over a year ago. Plus, he doesn't have to layoff anybody in the Police Department. Just eliminate some the more ridiculous aspects of it like the do nothing, accomplish nothing CAPS program and you would be surprised how much money could be saved. But we know that would never happen. How else would the mayor insulate himself and his political cronies from the crime problem? How else would he be able to offer "trinkets" to the citizens in the form of rallies and marches reminiscent of the way the pilgrims appeased the Indians years ago if not for the CAPS program? How else would the local alderman get their faces plastered all over the local newsmedia and gain favor with the "sheep" if not for the CAPS program?
I agree he won't actually lay off any police, but he won't allow any new hires, so the effect will be the same - a reduction in the force due to attrition.
One of those Sheridan/Farwell shots went through my neighbor's windows on the 2nd floor.
With all the sirens and red and blue flashing lights on Sunday, it sounded like Beruit. Civil war, anyone?
I can't believe that someone hasn't put up a flashing casino sign at the north entrance to Gale Park next to the 'security' camera. There are dice games and card games there constantly. Forget to BYOB? No problem, there's plenty of liquor there for you to drink. No need to worry about the brown bag..you can drink openly at Gale Park...it's the NOH law. And light up your joint or your crack pipe, no need to worry about being ticketed or arrested. It would violate your civil rights for anyone to tell you not to break the law.
shots fired again at Jonquil Terrace and Bosworth about 1:20 A.M. Thursday. 6 police cars in front of 7628 N Bosworth again. Another building managed by Northpoint Management. Where was their security team? When is our alderman going to address the issues with these problem buildings?
