* Com Ed Meter Reader Robbed at Gunpoint in Rogers Park

A Com Ed meter reader was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend as he was reading a meter in the 7400 block of North Ashland. The robber made off with th meter readers cell phone and $40.00 in cash.

6:23 PM: Robbery in progress. Two ruthless kids stole a 12 year olds bike and beat him up in the process at 2213 West Morse. EMS is responding. Stolen was a yellow mountain bicycle. Police are touring the area.

Another good reason to do what the gas company did over 10 years ago.
Covert the meters to be read by radio from a truck. Unlike the gas meters, you wouldn't even need a battery to power the thing.
And then the meters could be read 24 hours a day.

I guess common sense is beyond the grasp of ComEd.
They're pushing compact fluorescent bulbs at $2 each with their discounted price, but I saw the bulbs in a Southern Cal. hardware store for 99 cents as the regular price.
But then, California is actually serious about cutting energy usage, not Illinois & certainly not ComEd!

Joe Moore's lies have helped contribute to the crime and quality of life issues we have in Rogers Park. The two go hand in hand.
