* Gunshots at Gale Park
While responding to a "clear out the park" call, police observed a fight breaking out among a large group of young people at Gale School Park at 7659 N. Marshfield around 12:19 a.m. Aug. 4. As police approached shining a light on the crowd, they heard two shots fired. The group scattered, along with a 26-year-old man who had been shot. Police found the victim in his car. The victim did not provide police with any information about the shooter and was uncooperative. The victim was transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was admitted in stable condition. While in the emergency room, the victim told police that he was "kickin' it" when he heard the gunshots and felt pain in his groin area. The victim was held overnight for observation. Source

Why aren't the police running clear the park at 10:30PM which is curfew on week nights? The greater the police presence the sooner the thugs will comprehend this is one park they are NOT going to take over.
Just wondering if you have any plans to cover the massive graffiti action that's been hitting Rogers Park over the last couple of days. 5 houses were hit on my block alone (early am, 8/13), as well as a church a block away and more residences, too numerous to count. I think it's noteworthy, given the scale of the graffiti. It can be seen as far west as the Target at Howard and Kedzie.
On the plus side, his damaged groin might mean he can't reproduce...
Re Graffiti - Just Dial 311 and ask for Graffiti Busters!
You will be connected to an operator and the address/ location will be asked for.
They are really very responsive - and paint over the graffiti!
Over the years I have called them on several occasions and they do a great job!
Hey....when the service is good you have to report it.
You're not suggesting that the spray paint ban isn't effective, are you?
Anima,
I'm thinking you must live near Rogers Park Baptist Church. Our church was hit with graffiti on that day. We hadn't had to deal with graffiti for nearly a couple of decades, so I'm thinking some bad stuff is going on between the area's gangs.
