While all this was going on at Howard and Paulina, half a block down the street on Paulina in front of the alternative high school, 3 of the neighborhood drug dealers are open for business. Cars pull up to the curb, one of the dealers gets in the passenger side, the car drives down the block, the dealer gets out and returns to his post. This particular stretch of Paulina has been brought up as a hot spot for drug dealing for at least the past 4 months at CAPS meetings. There are 4 cameras on the front of the grocery store directly across the street from this activity, yet no one seems to notice or care. I personally call 911 at least once a day for this activity, today I called 3 times. I never saw a police car drive by. The aldermans office and DevCorp are both aware of this activity as representatives from both offices were present at last months CAPS meeting and heard the complaints. DevCorp agreed this was a problem area because their employees have been threatened by the drug dealers. Still nothing is done.

Joe "crime is down" Moore is more interested in watching the stealing of bases at Wrigley Field.

Hats off to the police officers.
