In broad daylight? With a hacksaw? Trying to cut his way through a bike lock?

So which is it: high drugs, bold as hell or just doesn't give a f*ck?

I also suppose it could be his bike and he lost his key.

Sorry, one more post: Was the Marine in uniform? Not that it would matter to them, but just curious.

Marine in uniform? The dispatcher didn't say.

Lost his key? I don't think so.

When I brought my bike from Roberts Cycle on Clark, the friendly bike seller advised me not to lock it outside anywhere for long periods of time. It's not a brand new bike, but that will not matter if someone really wants to nick it.

Hey I had my Hard Rock 21 speed stolen off my back porch. That means whoever did it opened the backyard gate. Came up onto my porch....looked around and walked off with my bicycle. After hearing all of this news the past couple of week I am thinking of maybe moving. I have spent my lifetime here. I am seriously thinking of moving to Paris, France. No I don't speak French, but if McInsane gets elected I am outta here.

The Marine mugging just two and a half blocks from joe's house.

No wonder he drives to his office on Jarvis.

While crime anywhere is a bad thing, why must you focus as if this is the only place that bad things happen?

Hear about Rex Grossman's sister being robbed at gun point IN LINCOLN PARK??

Muggings in the GOLD COAST.

Rapes in LAKEVIEW.

AND UPTOWN, GEEZ!!!!

What happened to objectivity. You are SOOOOO one sided.

I don't live in the Gold Coast or Lincoln Park. That's why. Oh, by the way. Here's some more one-sided news.

The open air drug market is thriving this morning in the 1300 and 1400 block of Morse Avenue.

Five salesman were also in front of the Wayne Senior building. Which is owned by the Alderman's best pal, Jay Johnson.

While I do have problems with this blog occasionally, it does have "Rogers Park" in the title, hence the "one-sidedness". Why would he write about Lincoln Park?

Craig:
Why do you only write about Chicago? NYC and LA have crime too, you know! lol

Was it that bike that has been chained to the fence by the sidewalk that the guy was trying to hacksaw through? I think that bike has been there quite a while. The tires and seat are gone already

ahhhh Jay Johnson. His building at 7700 N Marshfield has become popular.

While walking to the el two mornings this week, I passed a couple guys standing on the sidewalk in front of this building yelling for someone upstairs. They just wanted to buy some smoke....they needed some smoke.

On my return walk home from the el, one of the guys was back out front, yelling for some more smoke.

Yet another building to bring up at the CAPS meeting. Soon it's going to be easier to give the addresses of buildings that are not a problem for the neighborhood.

Hey, madeinrogerspark- Then go. You can join all those other dim wits like Alec Baldwin that said they were moving out if W was elected. Pack your bags now and don't let the door hit you in the ass. We don't need anybody here that would change the name of a great American like John McCain who served his country above and beyond the call of duty simply to voice your political stance. Your childlike behavior is so typical.

Craig - no need to publish - just FYI - Joe was outside Jarvis Red Line stop this morning on the street. Table with his name set up and he was shaking hands. I didn't stop so not sure if he was giving away donuts again.

Hey bigdaddy,

You forgot to mention that George W Bush and Dick Chenney, like John McCain, also serve their country.

Yessir, more of the same with McCain!

Fuzzy Logic - he was at the Metra stop this morning giving out donuts. I hadn't re-registered to vote since I moved to the RP so I spent my time filling out a form until the train arrived, so no chance to talk to the alderman for me.
