Blagojevich: "Getting It Done!"

Bumped: David Fagus and his "getting it done" guy impeached.

"Rod Blagojevich has been making the kind of changes we had been anticipating for 30 years of Republican governors.... We realized what life could be like with a Democrat leading the state government."
David Fagus, 49th Ward Democratic Committeeman

I'd like to see Joe and Rod be cell mates.

and harris was daley's former budget director.

I'm sure he was an honest guy when he worked for Daley!!!

fact of the matter, the people in this city, county, state, and country are stupid and allow this to happen.

One more, just one more. Please Santa, just one more. OK, maybe two.

When will Daley's turn be?

Fitzgerald has him in his scope. I wouldn't want to be in Fitzgerald's sights. He is methodical, thorough, tough, and patient.

Im waiting to see how Been There springs to the defence of Blago.

For the love of god. Selling the Senate seat?

What would that be, David? 'Pay-to-Play' on steroids.

Do you guys have no shame?

Fizgerald said that rather than the corruption slowing down after Rezko’s conviction, they sped up.

* Fitzgerald: “A political corruption crime spree......”

* Fitzgerald: “He attempted to sell a Senate seat......”

David Fagus said...> "I also have no doubt that we will all be better off with Blagojevich as our governor. Go Rod!"

David Fagus said.... "There is no doubt here, I am supporting Joe Moore. Go Joe!"

One down, one to go. There is no doubt who I'm rooting for. GO FEDS!

The complaint quotes him as bleeping saying: "I’m going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain. You hear what I’m saying. And if I don’t get what I want and I'm not satisfied with it, then I'll just take the Senate seat myself. . . . [The seat] is a fucking valuable thing, you just don’t give it away for nothing."

"If (Illinois) isn't the most corrupt state in the United States, it's certainly one hell of a competitor."

Actually, there are SEVERAL more to go.

Daley.

Moore.

Stroger.

...and, no doubt, other aldercreatures and officials.

And don't forget Jim Thompson started a lot of this crap.
He also needs to go down, hard for everything he did.

Okay, where is Been There with the rationalizations and excuses? ;o)

This is what happens when a rationalization goes too far. Way too far in this case. The man behaves like a sociopath in my opinion.

Its going to interesting reading, the tales that Rod will tell as he tries to get a deal by ratting everyone out.

Right now, Id settle to find out who the senate "candidates" were that were looking to purchase the senate seat.

While it would be nice to see Joe Moore get caught up in some of the fallout of this, isnt he a bit too far down the totem poll?

*****

He'll turn up, as he thinks all his "good works" will be rewarded. But, he's a guy who just doesn't get it--another psychpathic personality like our Guv, who's at home tonight, but should be incarcerated.

Whomever of you voted for people like this should now be ashamed.

@Jocelyn:

Beat you to it! See my earlier comment.

I expect Been There to respond with something like this:

"blah blah no capitalization, blago, social experiment, blah blah, good man, no gentrification please! blah blah progressive democrat, blah blah moore, i can do the mile of murals, blah blah, its all about how they are treated in the womb, blah blah. Fagus!"

Yep - have to love Fitzgerald and the team - so many of these politicians seem to forget they are mortal and have to follow the law like everyone else. I would love to see some of the others take a fall. I don't think Moore is that important to them - but Stroger???

Any public official who gets caught in 'pay-to-play' scheming should be the subject of the F.B.I. It first takes the media to get the ball started.

Knock - knock. Hello, Joe, the media is at the door.

That's hilarious Mark- I didn't see that before I made my comment. At least I know I am not the only one that sees a pattern there.

It is true that Blago did some good things (health care for kids for one) and had a decent platform (reform, good policy for working people), he just went so off the deep end. Isolating himself in his home in Chicago didn't help either. And that stuff with his family issues is really a big red flag too to me.

This overtook the 'magic pen' story. We had 7230 unique visitors yesterday. Over 15,000 pages were viewed. Just insane. Blogs. The new media outlet.

Too bad Blago didn't get popped before the election...the
Constitutional Convention, might have gotten more voter support.
