As a blog, I've been trying to raise awareness to the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) boondoogle. While I try to let the public know when, where and why some people get TIF assistance, Joe Moore trys to defuse the information with a bunch of propaganda, with a topping of insane mathematical codes regarding freezing the localized tax system, or tax base.
Where am I going with this? Well, unless you've been living under a rock, you've had to have heard about Republic Window and Doors. Did you know city council approved $10 million dollars in TIF funds to Republic? Did you know Republic recently opened a shop in Iowa?
Joe Moore is now asking for accountability on a TIF handout. A handout he and his fellow alderman approved. Oh, this should get real interesting. I believe a TIF cat will soon be let out of the bag. And this won't be pretty.

According to Hugh: Watch to see if the alderman will admit that he extended the Howard TIF.
The Howard Paulina TIF was established in 1988 and is scheduled to expire in 2011, during Moore's next term.
Howard/Paulina TIF
Date TIF Created: 10/14/1988
Termination Date: 10/14/2011
Size: 32 Acres
Over the last two decades the Howard TIF has diverted over $10M in property tax dollars AWAY from our schools and our County Health system and TOWARD the Alderman's developer pals including James DiMatteo, John Terzakis, Rudy Mulder, Jay Johnson, and DevCorp North.
See if Moore proposes to fix a failed program by extending it.
Joe, please, stay focused. Please concentrate the misuse of TIF funds in your OWN ward.
$2M property tax subsidy Moore arranged for his campaign contributor . Building still looks like hell.
The so-called "Pratt/Ridge" TIF (tax increment financing district) is a very unusual TIF in that the boundaries of the TIF district correspond exactly to the property line of ONE private property owner, S&C Electric!

Thanks Craig for the information - that is truly amazing stuff - I guess Joe really is just looking out for Joe
Makes me wish we had an army of Fitzpatricks.
Maybe Joe should think about not running again, rather than risk being nailed.
