Damn Yankees Off to Ireland

Well, we're off. Another hectic season of World Class motorcycle competition. Way too hectic. We will attempt to compete in a total of 5 off-road discipline series in 2009. Lucky for someone we know, I'll rarely be in Rogers Park this spring/summer/fall.

This year we start on the trials bike in Donard Park - Newcastle, Northern Ireland. The two day competition begins this weekend. After two disappointing, injury plagued years in the Youth Class, Patrick, now 18, moves up to the World Junior Cup Division. Pat starts the season pain free and is no longer the favorite to win. That's a load of pressure off to begin the season.

Enjoy the U2 "One" video. It sums up what Pat is heading into. He's still the only rider from North America attempting any Off-road FIM World Championship series for the United States. We all need to join as "one" and root him on. This kid is special and needs America's support. This is our Olympics. And with the worldwide attention on American's in Europe this week, some Europeans aren't too happy with us.

Anyway, I've got a few stories in the hopper and will keep you all updated on our adventures across the pond. You'll get unprecedented and behind the scenes coverage of our National Champions quest to become a World Champion.

Pre-congratulations on a successful European campaign.
Patrick is one of best and brightest.
Show those dang foreigners (joke) how Americans do it!

I heard young Patrick and his Uncle Craig share the same bed while traveling to save on expenses.

It's the best of both worlds, ain't it, Craig?

I'm jealous. Not only because you're going to Ireland, but because you'll be competing in the world of off-road goodness.
