The Race Report (Update)

The Paddock Area:

It's been awhile since I've given you an updated race report. Here we are in Rio Grande, Ohio, for the third round of the OMA Off-road National series. We've gotten our paddock area set-up going well this year. We sell our DVD's on site.

The Starting Line:

170 riders. 6 rows. Phil is in the front row with the pro's. I'm in the B class. Row 4. Our team number, #551.

Phil smacked a tree, rehurt his wrist and was knocked out of the race early. Not me, I was flying. I finished 3rd in my class. Notable. NBA legend Rik Smits is in my class. On the dirt he doesn't stand a chance against me so far. I've beat him every time.

The Aftermath:

It wasn't all pretty. On the first lap I took a nasty crash and smacked my right side on a huge rock. My elbow was gushing blood enough to soak the sleeve of the jersey all the way though. By the time I got the jersey off 2 hours later, the blood had dried and stuck to the fabric. Taking a jersey off never hurt so bad.

And my nephew has started a blog/website of his own. He posts a report on our trip here.

Thanks, Phil and are really enjoying our new sport of off-road, cross country racing.

Well, Phil, not so much. But I'm having a blast.

Patrick starts his National Championship trials title defense this weekend in Nebraska. We've pulled out of the World Championships due to the economy. We can't afford to do that much travel overseas this year.
