Menu Money Covers Night Parking for Porsche Driver
Ah, isn't this special? Free night parking for a neighbor who drives a {cough-couch} Porsche. This car must belong to one of those "poor seniors on a fixed income" - who can't afford to pay $100 a month to park their car.
I complain and complain about Morse L stop - how about if they just run the power wash through the entire place and put a coat of paint on it? HMMMM - maybe that would have been a better idea than spending our funds on a few parking spots for people! I wonder what person it is on a fixed income that is the black tiger driving that porsche? Is Joe Moore ever ashamed of the things he does????
fact, people, facts- potholes are not filled by menu money. they come out of the streets and san regular budget. resurfacing, yes, potholes, no. and cta station maintenance does not come out of the menu money, either. doesn't come out of any money that joe moore votes on. the cta is a separate agency altogether.
well, i don't think that is how anyone wanted to spend the money, but i do understand the point. those cars would be competing for a spot in front of your house without a public lot. public amenities cost money. so the public is paying for what the public uses. what the public in this neighborhood needs. i think that is kinda what a government is supposed to do, ain't it?
do you have some reason to think that a guy who drives a new porche doesn't pay any taxes, or contribute to the local economy? because so many here are jealous of people with a little money, no one should have parking? crazy.
Enjoying this thread...with my foie gras... 1. What W49 resident of any sensibility would park a tricycle in public view overnight much less a Porsche? We need to know more about this car owner. 2. Obviously, parking is a scarce resource that Ald Moore condo and other development policies have made even more dear. Permit parking and other strategies to improve parking resources in the ward would be a boon to the hard working residents of W49. I have no expectation that the Alderman will do any such thing.
And the people could still park there over night, right? NO one was going to stop them from having a place to park - they just had to pay for it like all the rest of us do! What's the problem with permit parking? I had it when I lived other places and had no problem with it. You pick up a sticker and guest passes and the people that live here can park their cars.
oh for crying out loud. just because you drive a porsche doesn't mean your rich. just because ingvar kamprad drives a 1993 volvo doesn't mean he's poor. what's with the stereotypes from adults? got nothin' better to do? i live next door to the porsche driver and i'm not rich. and believe me, living on the lakefront in rogers park is NOT the gold coast.
ok all I have to say about this is get your facts right. ALL THE METERS AT THE LAKE WERE COVERED. They were not covered for this driver and you know that. You are just trying to stir shit up. Yes parking in rogers park can suck at times. we need permit parking for those that live at the lake front end of story.

Since 2000, the ridership at the Morse and Howard CTA stations has declined.
Is the high crime that surrounds these stations?
Or is it because Joe Moore is car friendly?

Living on the lakefront. Owning a Porsche. Free Parking.
Entitlement has it's privileges.
When it comes to going to bat for the neighbors on free parking, it helps to give a little something-something to the local Alderman.

Notice the real estate listing (Greenleaf on the Lake LLC ) mentions nothing on parking?
Don't mess with the "Black Tiger"!
If I was the "Black Tiger" I might be a bit worried about the safety of car...
I'm just saying...
Will I get some menu money to repair my humble Taurus when it gets damaged by a pothole that Joe preferred to neglect?
The crime at these two el stations is enough to deter me, Craig. Morse is actually a tiny bit closer but I always walk or bus down to Loyola.

Mo, you forgot to mention menu money does cover night parking for the politically well-connected tax cheats and those who drive black Porsche's.
actually, you are not required to be a tax cheat. the parking places are first come, first served, just like they always were.
Except now, ALL the tax-payers of the 49th ward cover the tab for these select few, well-connected drivers. Right, Mo?

Yeah, MO, that's it. I want MY government to give every Porsche driver free night parking along the Rogers Park lakefront.

I bet been there and her gigundous mullet couldn't even fit into that Boxster.

wow, can we talk about SERIOUS stuff???
Spare us, donnakisser. You cheap, pretentious lakefront motherfuckers need to pay your own $.25/hr and shut up. Ingvar Kamprad my ass...
