Rogers Park Man Goes to Evanston to Rob Pizza Delivery Driver
Christopher Norton, 21, of the 1400 block of West Pratt Boulevard, made the Tribune today. He's one of the thugs who beat, robbed and stole the Pizza delivery man's car in Evanston.
Kudos to all the wonderful neighbors at the Clyde Ave condo where Steve Walker was robbed, who got together and set up a website to raise money to replace the car Walker badly needs to make his living and cannot afford to replace, and that his assailants stole and destroyed.
The criminal-coddlers who wail about how criminals are "victims" of their poverty and deprivation tend to forget a few things about poverty, mainly that:
1. Most poor people are distinctly NOT criminals or bums. They are mostly people working the bottom-end jobs that SOMEBODY must do and must do cheaply in order for the economy to function.
2. Poor people tend to be the majority of victims of violent crime because they are more likely to be working jobs that render them more vulnerable to criminal depredations, such as delivery man, convenience store clerk, gas station attendant, or other jobs that place them out in the public or force them to come and go at odd hours.
3. Poor people are less likely to make a good recovery from injuries inflicted by criminals. They cannot replace goods that are stolen and destroyed, they cannot afford medical treatment, and three or four weeks off the job because of serious injuries often means job loss and homelessness.
I saw one of the lovely young men that was one of the robbers lives at 1400 west pratt. Let's hope they put them in jail for a nice long while and get them off our streets!
BTW excellent post North Coast. "Poverty" is no excuse for criminal behavior. These wastes of space are cannibals feeding off those just like them. Or worse.

I wonder if he's one of the thugs that robbed the pizza delivery guy in the lobby of 7645 N Bosworth a few weeks ago?
