I'm going back to my old stomping grounds tonight. Anyone want to join me? My staff and I will be at Nick's On Wilson, 1140 West Wilson, for Bar Aids. Lindsay will be guest bar-tending.
If Uptown is a bit seedy for you, there's other nightclubs listed on the Aids Care/Bar Aids website. If you're not into venturing too far out of the neighborhood, try Touche on Clark, in Rogers Park. You don't have to wear leather if you don't want to. But you do have to bring money.

Your old stomping grounds? This means you were raised there, I'm assuming?
Oh, and please let me know (and reply)when you get my email. I sent you an email regarding something.
I used to live on Wilson Avenue in the 90's, Timmy. Had my fair shares of battles with Helen Shiller. Maybe she'll show up tonight and we'll share a drink?
Oh ok. That'd be cool if you shared a drink with her, I guess. I guess you can let her know that I REALLY enjoyed that video of the people chasing her from that press conference ;).
Alderman Shiller "show up" somewhere? Good one, Craig.
Maybe she'll get chased out of the bar [provided she attends] ;)?
You two are cracking me up.
Helen goes to a bar.
Helen: "I'd like a vodka martini."
Someone in the bar: "Liar!"
Helen leaves the bar.
LOL, MOTS ... that's almost the same thing I was thinking. Except, mine was that Helen goes in the bar, then people recongize her and yell/scream at her then she runs out.
Helen to bartender..
"straight, no chaser"
Uptown too seedy for someone from Rogers Park? Puh-leeze.
You'd probably be more likely to spot Helen at the Heartland, lunching with Joe Moore. She and he were photographed there at lunch together a couple of years ago.
Birds of a feather flock together, huh?
Dear Mr. Craig Gernhardt:
Are these bars all for homosexuals only or can anyone attend? Is the new homosexual bar on Glenwood participating? That bar is somewhat close to where I live but Im afraid to go out late without my dogs. Thank you.
.
My fellow Rogers Parkers:
I almost forgot. Hope to see all of you at Mr. Joe Moore's picnic on this weekend at the Farwell park. God bless Joe Moore for his generousity and kindness.
.
I think that anyone can patronize gay bars.
Homosexuality may be a different topic altogether.
If one is willing and eager to learn more about homosexuality then that person probably wouldn't have a difficult time finding someone to chaperone them from the bar to their front door and beyond.
By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth!
By the Seraphim's silent chant... and by Munnopor's mystic moon... may omniscient Oshtur grant... this fateful boon!
