As far as the Morse Streetscape, it appears to be in the same boat as the Morse Theater (dead in the water). Last I heard at CDOT, it was going to be advertized this year for contractor bids.
AND, unfortunately I found some other news. The Sheridan Road resurfacing is being done by IDOT, not CDOT. Apparently IDOT may not be taking their legal responsibilities seriously, as they appear to be avoiding the replacement the sidewalks and curb ramps as required by federal law. The ADA requires these improvements be made for those with disabilities at the time of resurfacing.
Well, if we get the Olympics you can probably forget any $$ coming up here. Although, I did have the owner of a Morse Avenue business tell me last week that the streetscape was on again, so who knows! It really seems like the streetscaping would help on Morse, make it less of a street for the lowlifes to loiter.
