Moore Fails to Communicate with Residents
It's not like I'm surprised. Joe Moore has a long history of failure to inform residents what's happening in his own ward. For the most part Moore doesn't know what's going on until it's over.

oh yea - that's in joe's lot where the "senior citizens" park. What a joke, I walk by there a couple times a day and I don't see any seniors. Actually in the evening there are often some nice cars parked there - like the porsch that continues to park there!

Joes' email blast - The next few days will be critical. Later today (Tuesday), the City Council Committee on Finance will vote on our ordinance. And tomorrow, the full City Council will vote on whether to authorize the Mayor to enter into the Olympic Agreement. This criticism of our wonderful alderman is totally unwarrented. All of the meters at the lakefront at Lunt are covered 24 hours a day and require no payment to park there. Thank you, Mr. Joe Moore for personally providing this benefit for those rich enough to own a car. I don't understand what the alderman could have done. As I understand it, signs were put up warning about the filming and giving notice to move cars. Cars should not be parked for days on end but should be checked at least once daily. Mr. Joe Moore is our friend and benefactor and looks out especially for those of us who need an extra hand. Respectfully yours.

I'm finding it hard not to come to the conclusion that you're as stupid as you come across on this board. Your posts are weak sauce (not to be confused with the "special sauce" chunks that dot your mustache).
Well, Rachael is definitely someone's mouthpiece but does make a good point about people parking there for days. If people left their cars in the parking lot because they don't have to pay - then I guess it's their own fault (as long as signs were up).
When no parking signs are posted, they need to be up for minimum of 24 hours. The signs at Loyola Park parking lot were not. People had no clue as to what happened to there cars. Signs posted late and removed early (because they finished earlier than they anticipated). Towed car owners lost a day & $150 min retrieving their cars, and may lose another day to challenge the towing.
The 24 hour rule, to my way of thinking, isn't enough notice. If you don't move/drive your car every day, you could get towed/ticketed. Even if you check your car once a day, you could technically get towed/ticketed 25 hours after you parked. This is true of ANY no parking sign anywhere in the city.
Cars should have been towed and relocated within RP (which has happened to me once before). Since a commercial was being filmed, the production company should pay for unconvinced to RP residents whose cars were towed.
The park district is responsible for the covered meters and its a temporary condition, till the pay to park boxes are installed (done). This is NOT for free parking for the rich. Free parking will only be effective from 7pm to 9am daily and not for the rich (first come first to get a parking spot).
BTW Im a senior who parks there (7pm to 9am) when I cant find a closer spot near my home & am far from rich.
well, I guess people will learn that its' not an extended time parking lot and they had better check their cars on a daily basis.
That lot should be used for people coming and going, not for people that want free parking 24 hours a day.
This post is old news and my posting probably wont be read but its the only recent posting that is relevant so here goes.
Parking is at a premium in Rogers Park and every spot is needed however Reside on Morse managed to take 4 spots from in front of their entrances just to make their building look more stately. There isn't enough traffic in/out of the building to warrant a no park zone. NOW to add insult to injury, they just started advertising monthly parking spots for $175.00/mo.
So how does this tie in to parking in Loyola Park?? Well ......... if free parking spots weren't taken out of use, we wouldn't need to park elsewhere.
