2:46 PM: Police ask dispatch for back up at Howard and Paulina, as a large group of kids were fighting in the street. As more police arrived on scene the fighters scattered in multiple directions. Some street brawlers headed east on Howard. Some street brawlers headed west towards the Howard EL. Dispatch is informed by police the kids come from the Howard Alternative School, not Sullivan.
5:52 PM: Large group fight at Pratt and Ashland. Callers say the fighters have knives.

I guess the only good thing about this is that they're not from Sullivan. We've had enough problems with some fights breaking out in school (mostly over who's dating who at the homecoming dance this Friday).
Let em fight. The survivors will all go to medical school and be productive citizens
Chicks & turf. Seems like this guys fight and kill over the silliest things.
I can agree on the killing and on the turf stuff, Craig. Or fighting with weapons. Or large fights over girls. Me, if I wanted to fight another guy over a girl, I'd only bring myself and not half the school like everyone does.
wow - these kids take high school jealousy and arguments to a new level.
Well, if one of them got killed, you'd hope they'd see how foolish and pointless fighting over untimately inconsequential stuff is.
Ah, who am I kidding? They'd be back out there the next week fighting over something else stupid and inconsequential.
