Basic goon tactics were employed in the most recent violence in Rogers Park.
Police are looking for at least three men who beat up a man in a car at a Rogers Park McDonald’s early Friday on the North Side, police said. About 2:15 a.m., at least three men beat up a 29-year-old man at a McDonalds parking lot at North Clark and West Pratt Boulevard following a traffic altercation, police said. Source/Read more.
Multiple people jumping on one individual. Sounds like the same goonish attacks used my many school kids these days.

basic mugging i would say.
it was three guys on me or atleast two and one going through my pockets.
hopefully it was caught on tape somewhere.
the cops really need to form a sting operation where they tail someone late at night and then pounce when these idiots attack
well what makes this interesting is the involvement of a car.
people always love to gang up on someone, hence gangbangers, gang,
they only have strength in numbers.
and what also makes this new is that mcdonalds is considered hallowed ground, sacred, and the person was in his car.
how dare you not allow someone to be on hallowed ground at such a late hour.
what will mcdonalds spokesman say?
shouldnt every american be able to have a traffic altercation and then safely reside within the confines of mcdonalds at any hour of the day?
well, sounds like the man had a traffic altercation with the wrong guys, did the guy from the drive thru window come out to his aid?
if the drive thru guy with the headset doesnt have my back, then im boycotting mcdonalds, i would atleast expect someone to come out with a kitchen utensil and try to beat them off of me.
o ronald, thou hast forsaken this individual, o ronald is it only money that you care about?
Is not your ground sacred ronald?
Chicago did not get the 2016 games. Maybe now our leader can focus on local problems like crime and corruption. On second thought, I guess I am dreaming.
Now our fearless leaders can worry about issues like barking dogs.
what was the race of the beaten man?
ofcourse not that race is always an issue, but its not a non-issue.
You don't know how GLAD I am that we don't have the Olympics. This is the greatest news I've heard in a while! Now the mayor HAS to do something (does he actually have to?) about the crime and other stuff affecting our city. He's probably pissed off, but he'll have to get over it.
P.S. Craig, I sent you an email. It's important.
I feel sorry for the vitcim. This shouldn't have happened to him. I hope they catch these offenders.
Before I forget, this was the first real rowdy day of the school year. Quite a few fights broke out today.
Yes-as an example of absurdistly dark humor perhaps an Olympic entry unique to Chicago should be something like the "evading-a- mugging-decathlon".
Heeeey!
In regards to the Olympic host city bids I have to mention that I predicted the accurate 2016 Olympic location(and we think that Chicago has problems with crime)a few weeks ago when commenting on a blog post here.
My few, faithful fans[BRIEFLY PAUSE FOR APPLAUSE HERE]-the "hard-core"- do not find this surprisng in the least as I am very appreciated by them[PAUSE FOR MORE APPLAUSE HERE].
Now-I want to have the winner's plaque and monetary prize mailed prior to the 7th since I will need public transporation money to take my special lady queen out for the steak meal that she's paying for.
Per our usual arrangement[INSERT A STANDING OVATION HERE].
Please have a Broken Heart staffer contact me at 773-327-7271 so that I can inform her or him of my exact P.O. address and box number.
I'd also like the prize money to be in denominations of quarters and single dollar bills for the subway.
Pre-paid CTA passes are acceptable also.
Timmy - Did you see any of the altercations, or hear any any word on the outcome (arrests, suspension, expulsion, etc.)?
Chicago, I did not witness the fights, but I did hear that a person or two was arrested. There were also a few suspensions issued.
@Newgarder:
Crime wasn't the reason Rio got the games.
Rio has at least ten times the murders as Chicago, well over 5000 last year. And a good number of them were by their totally corrupt cops. Not to forget that Rio is one of the pickpocketing capitols of the world.
Kidnapping for ransom is out of control there, when is the last time you heard of an adult kidnapped in this country, let alone in this city for ransom?
Most well off people have bodyguards, travel in armored limos & the really rich use choppers to travel from home to work!
No, Rio got it because the USOC is an insular & incompetent organization that doesn't play well with the Eurotrash that makes up the majority of the IOC!
The attempt to set up an Olympic TV net earlier this year just pissed them off massively.
Plus Daley & the USOC never understood that the CTA & its inability to be run in a competent manner was a deal killer. I'm baffled as to why a number of local columnists have brought up the remarks in the IOC evaluation of Chicago that Metra would be unable to handle the increased crowds. Metra would be an afterthought for tourists, few of the proposed venues were near Metra lines, it would be the CTA carrying most of them.
But then, the local press basically ignores the CTA until it comes crying for money to survive, they never ride the miserable third world operation we jokingly call rapid transit!
And they ignore that Daley has let his flunkies destroy it!
Great clip from China Town.
Really like the bloddy nose at the end.

I do not know where to put this but some of these expenses are totally off the charts. IN my house, where every one is free with the old leaving the lights on because they will return in a sec, the yearly expense for the electrical barely exceed $1,100 dollars. Include the air conditioners when the heat is killing us. Also his payment sto Peoples Gas. Tak! Tsk! Who knows what anyone spends these days. This was in the Chicago Tribune

wow - those expenses are amazing - those offices aren't that big are they to have such huge comed and gas bills? they must have it cranked up! Lots of supplies from office depot - must be for all the paper they use to litter the neighborhood with all those stupid flyers.
Progun, you may be interested in knowing that the victim in that case refused to sign complaints and that the guy walked after being charged with a mere misdemeanor. Another reason why I'm re-evaluating my position on interceding in what appears to be a battery or strong arm robbery when I'm off duty. Can you imagine what would have happened if an off duty copper would have shot that punk only to learn that the victim was so uninterested that she refused to sign a complaint? Which brings me to the Fenger HS murder. Let's say a policeman ran into that and shot and killed the punk just as he was about to deliver the fatal blow with the 2x4. Can you imagine the ruckus the reverends would have started when they found out that one of their "honor roll, college bound, angel of a child " students was killed by the police as he dropped a piece of he found on the street while cleaning up the neighborhood as part of his civics class?
