Has anyone seen an actual print copy of the Urban Coaster in the last month? I believe they've missed out on printing at least two issues. Has the paper folded already?
We can only hope those "progressive" shills are out of business. They should be ashamed of themselves for even operating under the guise of journalism. But then again, that presupposes that honesty even exists as a virtue in those quarters.
If the URBAN COASTER folks had had any sense, they'd never have issued a print edition to begin with. It's impossible to launch a print publication these days with the kind of money most people starting little local publications have available. The printing costs alone make your eyes glaze over.
The website or blog format is ideal for start-up publications, with low operating costs and easy distribution.
crowd of youth (20 to 25) wandering down Sheridan - stopped at Lunt for a big free for all fist fight in the middle of Lunt (east side of Sheridan) then ran off toward Morse where they had another round behind Leonas. About 10 minutes later lots of police cars appeared but no kids anywhere to be seen.
Hey Craig: Check today's Sun-Times classified section, p. 39. Someone has applied for a liquor license at the address of the Morse Theater, 1328-1330 W. Morse. Applicant is "86th Ohio LLC" and name of business is "Mayne Stage/Act One Cafe."
The Urban Coaster is still being published and distributed. You can't find them because I go around and pick them all up so I have something with which to wipe my ass.
the comments section is becoming future defunct blog entries and that is inhibiting discussion in general.
seriously, i mean if i have to i can start a rogers park blog
its not that hard.
i just want a place where neigborhood news is posted so people can talk about it.
also i would like less censorship i try not to be so amazingly controversial but i am shocked at the censorship that can take place on this and other blogs
Seriously, Geofredo might be full of it, but when you don't put up any posts for days or weeks at a time, readers will stop checking the site. You used to pride yourself, and this site, on being on top of things and posting regularly, but lately you seem to be skating a bit. If you have the time to respond to Geofredo below, don't you have the time to just post a link to the Trib story about the Morse?
Or should you get some sub-bloggers to post for you?
Just sayin'. I'm a fan, but I'm a Cubs fan too, and that doesn't mean I have to love Milton Bradley, or no posts since December 26.
You should be proud that people consider Broken Heart a civic service like street cleaning or fixing a broken streetlamp and that when it isn't being done, they feel it's within their right to complain. Pretty impressive for a voluntary blog.

Exactly who would even miss it?
Other than those that line the bottom of birdcages!
Come to think of it, I haven't seen any copies of the Urban Coaster in weeks. Not sure what happened.
For shits and giggles I emailed the staff to get an answer.
While Ginderske fails, I try to pick up the slack.

this post will probably not see the light of day
The Broken Heart is still alive. That's more than we can say about the Urban Slackers. Try leaving a comment on their website, asshole.
