Person Shot in Rogers Park

Little details forthcoming other than a person has been shot on Morse and Greenview tonight around 9 PM. It didn't happen on the street according to my source. Police are investigating the matter.

I was just coming home at 09:15PM and heard a lot of sirens in the area. Off topic, I drove through the intersection of Wayne and Farwell at 09:05PM expecting to duck gun-fire but there was NOBODY on the streets. Too early for our thugs and bangers? Off off topic, there is a lot noise (music?) coming from the Morseland.

Wayne and Farwell has calmed down a little.
There are always new groups of thugs hanging around there, establishing territory or just maintaining it.
Lately I saw a wigger,
atleast it was a very strange white guy who was very chummy with some extremely shady gangbangers.
They hung on the corner for a little bit the other day and then most drove out to places unknown.

Yeah too early for the bangers chip bagg, they come out later and they are quieter.
They have learned that being noisy brings the cops quick.
I still call regardless of noise when I see them

They were lined up in the laundry mat parking lot answering to the police for an hour or so.
There were several squads and several undercover on the scene.
There was a group of white shirts that unloaded out of a car with temp tags on Lunt just feet west the EL viaduct at the same time. Lots of flashing and talks of their good deeds before disbursing on foot.

Kind of off topic but...does anyone know about a man getting lit on fire outside the bar at Pratt & Sheridan? I believe this happened Friday night.

What is a wigger?

Wigga's are from Wiggistan.

A "wigger" is the opposite of a "blonky" or "Crackerifan- American."

Someone SET ON FIRE at Sheridan & Pratt? HUH?

Never heard a word, nor did I hear the sirens.. or at least not anymore than I hear from living on Pratt, a conduit for emergency vehicles.

It seems weird that the people at Sam's Liquor, who know everything that happens around here, or the people at the 7-11 wouldn't have heard about it, and mentioned it. If this had actually happened, the neighborhood would be buzzing with talk about it. It would rate at least a mention in the mainstream media, too.

Man, I walked down Morse from the grocery yesterday and had to pass by a whole group of punks hanging out. I hope they don't destroy the upcoming changes. They all try to glare at you and scare you - they might at night, but not during the day! (it's always a different story when I'm walking with 2 big dogs - that I enjoy!)

Yeah the never ending fight for morse et al.

This am 7/29 walked to coffee shop
on morse,
plenty of dirty looks from the contigent of chronically unpleased neredowells on morse.

Well that comes with the territory, there are folks very unhappy with the improving neighborhood. They are doing all they can to keep the place down.

But in the end that wont work.
The economic forces at play and the desireability of the area and convenience to the lake, el and metra are too much for dirty looks, and whatever shenanigans they are up to.

Yesterday I saw some hispanic bangers on wayne giving dirty looks as well. So its not a race issue.

@ North Coast: I actually heard about the burning guy from the clerk at 7-11. He told me a dude came in and bought butane and a lighter... you can guess the rest.

Good God, Fisting, I can't imagine it.

What was it, a fight? I'm guessing (hoping) the victim wasn't injured to badly but the attacker should be sent up for 25 years just for making the attempt.

When I read the mainstream media article describing how most shooters in this city are NOT PROSECUTED, I'm amazed we don't have more violent crime than we do. We need to get VERY TOUGH in a very even, consistent way with people who commit these really violent crimes.

And we need to hold judges and prosecutors accountable for declining to prosecute some thug for a vicious crime just because his victim has a rap sheet himself, or is a prostitute or someone else similarly unsavory.

Declining to prosecute and taking the attitude "let'm all just kill each other" creates a really permissive climate for thugs and enables these scum in thinking they're laws unto themselves. Enough. Time to show Chicago's thugs who the bosses are.

Sights Seen:
07-29: Thursday 10:25 AM
Older black man with aluminium cane being arrested by Chicago Police Transit Detail in parking lot at Morse and Wayne. I don't know from where on Morse they snagged this grandpappi or for what illegal act but they walked him back to the car in handcuffs and stuffed his limping old ass into the back seat and drove off. The police car had been parked in the lot unattended for at least 45 minutes so the plain clothed cops were patrolling somewhere on Morse or the el.
.
Later that morning, while walking down alley between Morse and Lunt,
black dude "greets" me then immediately asks for a cigarette.
Question: Is there some book of rules these folks have that instructs them to hit Whitey up for money or cigs everytime they see him? Just curious.
.
Still later that morning. Black chick wearing bright red jumpsuit happily crossing Sheridan at Lunt on what I can best describe as a motorized office chair. Nothing too odd except I had seen her earlier scampering around Morse and Wayne on her own two legs. What a circus.

@Meze
Wigger usually refers to a young white person who acts/talks like a black person. The word is a combination of "white" and "ni@@er". Of course I can't actualy type the so called n-word here because it is the ultimate in un-PC to use it in any way here in what used to be the United States of America (or on this blog).

I watched this whole thing happen on my street. There were SO many cops in the building! It happened inside the building on the corner.
