I was at the lake about to head west when I heard the shots. Had all three kids with me so called Craig to try and find out the scoop. After talking with Craig we decided to head to Loyola and hang out till the the lead settled. As we stopped at the Common Cup 45 mins latter a number(10-15) of Red Hats gathered on the corners and began to call on Cell phones. The number of Red Hats grew to about 20 at the Chase parking lot Red Hat gathering spot. Eventually they disbursed in smaller groups to all points NSEW.
BWalker, please explain what is a Red Hat. I don't think you're speaking of the society of women of a certain age to get together socially. Also, Chase Parking lot? What are the coordinates?
They probably went & hid in the Living Waters church! Those people are gang enablers. They go to the beat meetings, get up & say what nice misunderstood young people the gangs are made of & then head straight back & tell the gangs exactly what "horrible things" were said about them at the meeting!

at 1pm yesterday I called the cops because there were alot of hoodlums in a pack at wayne and farwell, so this is before the shooting, yeah a couple redhats were there.

They (black gangbangers, the usual motley crew) were first chasing after some other blacks east bound on farwell, they then doublebacked and saw a silver car at wayne and farwell and one youth was pounding on the passenger side window pretty hard.
Then they disappeared into the ether, as they headed north on wayne towards Morse.
I called them twice because they were chasing some people and for pounding on the car.
But no one came by. There was some sort of fire going on at the same time.
"Red Hats" are Cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church. As in Francis Cardinal George or Joseph Cardinal Bernadin. So a group of Cardinals are hanging out at Chase Bank on Morse? What next?

My husband was on the street at 5 pm when a group of youths gathered on Greenview, just north of Farwell. They looked suspicious because one was acting as a "lookout." 5 minutes after he parked, we heard the gunshots, probably 6 of them. I heard them from our apartment and soon my husband came in to tell me what he saw.
11/10/10 Thats partly why I am on a almost daily mission to pick up trash.
I especially keep the greenview street picked up from farwell to morse, because I cant pick up the whole street and really thats the area that always needs it the most. And litter makes them feel like they are at home.
And why do you think Im upset with the common cup? Because they wont help pick up trash.... Because that is a gang hotspot.
At the very least its good to show people that trash and litter wont be tolerated. I think its funny when people wont pickup trash in front of where they live or where their business is. No actually I think its sad.
I'm so sick of all these punks hanging around - too bad they can't just pack them all up and ship them out to some deserted island to fight it out. Although it is fun to walk through their pack with a couple of big dogs! They aren't quite so "manly" then! lol

called act one to let them know and i called tony of a and p whatever who owns the building to let them know as well that the brazers were hanging out.

I'm with you on the trash - as I have said, after 10 years living on the near north side and then moving up here - the trash has driven me crazy. It's just such a different mentality than I'm used to - it's one of the issues that will eventually force me back to yuppieland.
