For Immediate Release:
I was sadly reminded of the continued violence that is griping our community and impacting our quality of life. We had another shooting this morning. It happened in police CAPS Beat 2431, Wayne and Farwell area. I am outraged that we have not shown effective leadership in this area.
The gun violence in our community appears to getting worse and still we have no comprehensive plan. I call on all community leaders not to be reactionary but engage the youth of our community on a level beyond the Chicago Police Department. We must not allow this to continue to spiral out of control!
There will be no quick fix to this violence, but surely we must have long term strategies that are effective. Our community needs strong leadership and we need it now. Some suggest that Rogers Park does not have a crime or gang problem. I am here to tell you, sadly, the elephant has been in the room for as long as I can remember.
Why haven’t we done better? Everyone can, and must do better! Regardless of what happens in the campaign, everybody owes it to our community to be a part of the solution.
Update: Joe Moore has sent an email, letting us know he's looking into the early morning shooting, also. Here's what he had to say.
"I've requested from the 24th District a list of the calls for service on the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Farwell to determine if there is a problem building that might be a source of a lot of the problems..."

Huh?
.
What the fuck is he talking about?
Who is this "we" to whom he refers?
Himself? Is he outraged at himself? I doubt it. He is blaming someone or someones here. I just don't know who it is. And who are these commnunity leaders? I associate the term "community leader" with the Democrat voting black areas of the south and west sides. These are the usual agitators and troublemakers who hate whites, hate the police, hate civilized society, hate education, and defend their youffs no matter what mahem they create. Are we now a part of that shit heap? No wonder it stinks around here. And no wonder Joe Moron stinks. He is sitting on the very top of the shit pile.

So, Chip Bagg,
What of the Black people who live here in RP and on the North Side in general? Who do we vote for, pray tell? Do all of us up here hate whites, the police, civilized society, hate education, etc.?
Just asking a question.
Wow. After all of Craig's insane anti-Joe babbling during the last election, who would have thought that he would become one of Joe's preferred suck ups?
Kind of makes you wonder if Craig's business is failing to the extent that he is looking to Joe for employment.
We've got a gang war going on, and Hugh's worried about my private business and my future.
How sweet.
The huge yellow courtyard building on farwell inbetween glenwood and greenview on the northside of the street definitely has some entrenched drug people/dealers in it.
Also 6921 N Wayne is a haven for a few thugs/bums/gang people for sure. And the Wayne Senior Building may even be hiding bad old people or their younger thuggee offspring.
Thats just what I know.
