With all this petition challenging in the news, I wanted to share this tidbit. Jason T. Olsen is putting the screws to Ross Akins (PDF).
Ross is being nailed on a number of alleged violations of elections 101. Ross allegedly owes the city money. That's a no-no. He's got all sorts of alleged errors in how he collected signatures - how he worded the petition(s) - how they're numbered - and serious allegations of address/residency issues. Those are all no-no's, too.
All in all, Mr. Jason T. Olsen went over Roosivelt "Ross" Akins' petitions with a fine tooth comb. There's over 30 charges of objections to how Ross Akins collected names for his petitions to be the Alderman of the 49th ward.

Is Roosevelt (Ross) Akins one of those really wacky candidates? Based on his name alone, I am venturing a guess that he is.
I think Mr. Olsen isn't spending a dime of his own money. I'd bet a coffee at your favorite brew spot that he's a proxy for his employer, who is also representing him. Dang if I know what is up with that.
