We have more gunplay in Rogers Park. This time on Howard, near Ashland. Police say shell casings are spotted at 1615 West Howard. A victim has arrived on his on accord to St. Francis in Evanston with a gun shot wound. More to come on our most recent shooting in the 49th Ward.
Update #1: The victim is described as a M/B, 25 years old. He was shot in the shoulder region of his body. Police monitoring the victim at St. Francis say his condition is "alive and breathing." Also, seems an arrant bullet wound up in someone's apartment at 1632 West Howard.
Update #2: The first 911 call was recorded at 7:14PM.
Update #3: The craziness continues around Howard and Ashland at 1:53AM, this morning. A car was stolen in the 7600 block of North Bosworth. A police chase ensued. Offender flees car and runs to Jonquil and Ashland for a place to hide. More here.
Update #4: The Chicago Tribune broke the bank and went all out in covering this story.

This is the second time within a month that I have been 500 ft from a shooting while driving home. I was driving east and stopped at the light to turn south onto (what used to be) Paulina from Howard (thru the EL station)at around 7:10pm; heard the shots, and saw some people scatter near the EL overpass. By and large, though, there was little visible response from the people in the area. I continued south on Paulina, passing 2 police vehicles which didn't seem in a hurry to get anywhere: no lights, no sirens.
Also, I really appreciate this blog because it's the only way I know of to track/verify the shooting incidents. thank you. E
I was also driving past when this shooting occured. Heading east on Howard when I heard the first burst of shots (5 or 6). Saw people running east on Howard to get out the area. Kept driving east and heard another 3 shots. I got far enough east to feel safe to stop and dig my phone out to call 911.
December 2nd. Shots fired. Person shot.
December 3rd. Shots fired. No one hit.
December 5th. Shots fired Person shot.
December 7th. Shots fired. Person shot.
Does anyone see a pattern?
I see the pattern. Shooting occur on prime numbers. We should expect the next one on the 11th.
Math nerd gangbangers, I love it! Matt, that was the best comment ever posted on this blog.
I say the 8th or 9th. It is not prime numbers but odd numbers. The eighth is not prime or odd which is why it is a viable prediction.
Stupidity is also extremely impatient so sooner rather than latter.
