Moon Over Morse

My walk with Cota this morning produced this wonderful site. A full moon over the Morse Avenue EL stop. I don't remember ever seeing the moon that close to the earth.

Got this from the Sun-Times. A man who told police he was shot while pumping gas in Rogers Park early Saturday is hospitalized in Evanston. The victim walked into Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston and told personnel he had been shot in the leg about 3:30 a.m. while pumping gas.

Shots were fired at Morse and Greenview at 4:24 a.m. - about 8 shots were fired from the south side of the intersection - a bunch of kids ran north up Greenview. Police arrived around 4:30. Shots were also fired further south around Farwell and Greenview a few minutes later. No news coverage.

The "Supermoon" officially arrives today at 3 PM Eastern Standard Time when the moon orbits closer to earth than it's been in 18 years. Tonight's views of the moon will be especially neat because the moon's perigee, the closest point in its orbital cycle to the earth, aligns within an hour to when the full-moon actually occurs.

Terri, did you actually see it? I was asleep, but woke up and called 911. Couldn't tell exactly where shots were coming from, but I usually assume it's down toward Ashland.

Yeah - the first shots woke me up and I saw the kids running. Called 911 right away. Cops were driving around the streets for a while trying to find them. It's getting scary over here!

We also saw the shooting this morning at Morse and Greenview. Literally saw one of the guys fire 3 shots. My husband saw the gun shells this morning when he took out out. Glad other people are calling 911. I'm amazed with all those shots that there was no other damage.
