(Oct 20, 2012/Rogers Park) - A few years ago there were over 35 bloggers in Rogers Park, earning us the title of 5th bloggiest neighborhood in the country, according to outside.in. Most were anonymous cowardly bloggers who have since taken the anonymous handles over to Everyblock. We've got a new blogger to the blog world, thanks to the censorship on Everyblock. Welcome Jeff-0. I urge readers who want the real facts, to bookmark him.
UPDATE: The new boss at Everyblock hasn't banned just Jeff-O and I. Now it seems everyone in Rogers Park is getting banned for some reason or another.
BLOGNOTES: You gotta love corporate NBC ownership of Everyblock. Now the only people who can post are politicians -- and those who suck up to them.

I have to admit I've been a huge prick over there in my 7-8 incarnations, but some of the things they jump down your throat about around there are just ridiculous. You mean, I can't describe what the perp looked like? Then how will they find them?

Everyblock wants "Disney" - smiling, happy neighbors. Unfortunately we live in "Law and Order" - gangs, shootings, etc.
Becca has been complaining for many months that too many people have been posting about crime. Everyblock does not want to be a "crime" site. They want to be a "nice neighbor" site.
Everyblock will die an "AOL moderated chat room" death. And Something better will come along to take it's place. The Internet hates censorship.
Everyblockers use generic attacks to try and silence their political opponents. Ad hominem, straw men, pulling the race card, and my favorite, telling people to "get some help".
Psychiatry as it currently exists just replaces the mental health consumer's illness with a new one, liberalism, Everyblockers should know that a person will not cease to exist online and start embracing democratic values just because they "get the hookup" with Thresholds, infact they stop being a pain in the ass on the internet and instead start being a pain in the ass in person, look at the Grais facility and their losers wandering the neighborhood, or Dincin Center in Lakeview.
I have been around those people for FIVE YEARS and they haven't gotten one lick better, yet they (the psych industry) get to suck the Medicaid tit dry anyway.
Some of their commenters on Everyblock like,Yoga Siddha, Helen, Apple Jack, Bruce, Mr. Rogers, RogersParker, John in Rogers Park, Mike in Rogers Park, Lakefront dude, RPLover, Farewell Frank, Anne on Ridge, Rogersparker, and Barb in Ravenswood, all seem so phony and fake. They all thank each other and comment on how they all do good deeds. Yet, no one every really sees them in public doing these good deeds. Maybe they are really only one person posing as many?
Out of curiosity, just referring to blogger who write about the city/neighborhood? Or any blogger in general?

Becca is a shrew who should be terminated. Below is a response that I sent to EB last June regarding her capricious censorship: Dear Sirs,
Upon reexamining my earlier post from this afternoon, I can find nothing which is "excessively inflamitory" or outside of the posted community guidelines" of do's and don'ts. This posting was very much on topic to other recent conversation threads here as they relate to our Rogers Park neighborhood. As this was a first posting I obviously am not off topic, and I certainly used no profanity, offensive language, racial slurs, or any other insinuations which could be offensive. I merely presented a well crafted, short, cognitive arguement regarding the deterioration of specific social values as they relate to recent crime problems which have been an element in the Rogers Park neighborhood. What in effect you have done, is to irrationally censor idealogical thought which is in contrast to either your views or that of the current administration which, like Barrack Obama, just doesn't seem to care about the working class.
This is the second time you have capriciously removed one of my postings without cause. The first time you did so, was a posting that I made stating that I was elated that the CPD was aggressively enforcing leash laws. My posting was 100% related to the topic and in no way violated your "do;s and don'ts of posting. While the function of your site is intended to be a sounding board for the community to engage in cognitive thought provoking online discussions regarding that community which we all appear to be living in, your actions to censor reasonable postings which appear to be in contrast with yours is nothing more than censorship. I would hate to have you as my childs school teacher on any level.
Noone deserves to be capriciously censored, but AJ and a few others seem more preocupied with off topic assinine cute comments than they do with constructive dialogue. We all need to resist the temptation to "throw a zinger in there" or to respond with personal attacks rather than rationally discussing issues online.
