Farwell shooting mystery

Alderman Joe Moore spoke with Commander Waldera Friday morning regarding the two men that were shot Wednesday night at Farwell and Greenview. The Alderman relayed the message to his loyal kool-aid drinking followers that "the victims are not known to be affiliated with a gang and are cooperating with the police."

The two men, ages 23 and 35, were allegedly walking back from 7/Eleven around 9:55 p.m., when a dark colored car drove up and sprayed up to 10 shots in their direction. One man walking his dog saw a person run past him to Morse Avenue right after the shots were fire.

A drive-by shooting without it being a gang conflict only heightens the fear of any person being shot randomly in the neighborhood. Now residents must worry about any "Joe Blow" driving around shooting residents for no particular cause or reason.

According to the 49th Ward Alderman, "the motive for the shootings remains a mystery."

BLOGNOTES: Two other shootings this week on Farwell also remain mysterious in nature. Wednesday around 4 p.m. shots were fired and a get-away vehicle hit a moped rider - who in return hit a parked minivan. The moped driver needed an ambulance. The crashed up moped is still parked in the same spot it was on Wednesday. No one was hit by any bullets.

On Friday night around 11:15 p.m., neighbors reportedly heard more gunplay at Glenwood and Farwell. No one was hit. Artie P. said on Everyblock that he was at Bullhead Cantina one block north on Morse and Glenwood.

He posted, "People here heard (gun shots) as well...."  "The whole corner scattered."

As of press time there had been no word from the Alderman as to who or what was being shot at. Being an election year and all, this is also very mysterious

The location of all these mysterious shootings this week occurred is in CAPS Beat 2431.

I smell a PL walk in the works. That oughta solve the problem.
