Here is the history. In late March 2000, Ald. Joe Moore’s campaign received $5,000 from C&R Management and $5,000 from Lakeview Pointe Townhomes and Condos, both with mailing addresses of 4735 N. Western Ave. This public-record information was published in Lerner newspapers after being identified by David Stahr, former research director for Citizens Action of Illinois. Stahr, a resident of the 49th Ward, said SGR Century 21 Realty, who is handling the sale of properties at at the time for Lakeview Pointe, also donated to Moore’s campaign fund.
“The developer, Tony Ruh, gave $11,000 in campaign contributions to Moore the same month the zoning variance (needed for The Residences at Lakeview Pointe) went through,” said Michael Harrington in a WCTimes story by Cathy Seabaugh on 02-19-03.

I for one am speechless.......Campaign contributions to Alderman from Developers? Does anybody else feel like they were punched in the gut?
Next thing you know City Union workers are gonna start taking advantage of their patronage job's and, I don't know..... play golf and have a buddy clock in for them.
Someone should call the Mayor....I bet he will set it all straight.
If the Political climate does not take a change for the better around here,I may have to up and move to.....Palookaville.
We all got punched in the gut! I lived up here before this project started and did not like the fast track this development took. Greed was the number #1 factor, not the neighbors decision..

What was the neighbors decision? Are they all named Anonymous?
Fast Track? You must be joking....how many different developers had a hand in this, before it finally was turned into homes? If you recall Anon It was a Shell station prior to condo's. What would you have liked to see there? Or are you simply commenting on it's Architectural scale and use of space? Maybe it should be a TRIALS PARK What do ya think Craig?
Charlie,
I wish people would sign up and post their names like you did, but they don't.
And no, the Ex-Shell, now "Lake Pointe Alderman Slush fund Project" wouldn't have made a nice trials park. The trials community in Chicagoland wouldn't pony up such cash to Alderman DoNothing.
Now that the marina is a dead issue, I don't have to worry, we have the boulders accross the street, the problem is, if you fall, you lose the bike in the lake!
Some of us don't want to give our names in fear of backlash from the Alderman's thugs. Why should I, if I don't have to?
It would prove you have a spine. Otherwise you are just as looney as Bugs Bunny. Thugs Shmugs.....
