Robberies of Fast Food Delivery Drivers

About these crimes:

Chicago Police are warning area fast-food establishments about a string of robberies of delivery drivers in the Rogers Park neighborhood. A dozen such robberies have occurred since Nov. 26, 2004, in the 24th Police District. Police said four or five offenders have been working alone or in teams to rob delivery drivers on the street as they exit their vehicles or as they make a delivery at a building. In these incidents, one or two offenders approach and strike the victim on the head or point a handgun and demand money, wallets, cell phones and food. The offenders flee the area on foot.

Description of offenders:

• Offender #1 - male Black, 20 to 25 years of age, approximately 5'11"to 6'2" tall, 190 to 210 pounds. Last seen wearing dark clothing, dark hoody and/or dark mask, dark shoes. Subject was armed with a handgun.

• Offender #2 - male Black, 18 to 22 years of age, approximately 5'8" to 5'10" tall, 150 to 170 pounds. Last seen wearing a dark clothing with a dark hoody and/or dark mask.

• Offenders #3 & #4- male Blacks, 17 to 20 years of age, approximately 5'6" to 5'8" tall, 140 to 170 pounds. Last seen wearing dark clothing and a dark hoody and/or dark mask. It is unknown if these offenders had weapons because the victims were struck on the head and knocked to the ground before being robbed.
