* "Drinks Are On Me"!

Joe
A friend called and told me Alderman Moore was holding court Friday Night at the Red Line Tap. She said most of the big wigs from the 49th ward political committee were there. Charese Jordan, Wayne Frazer, Helen Carlock.

OK, not so big wigs, but from my friends point of view, the Alderman pulled out all the stops. He had 49th ward staffer Michael Land order a catered for fifty gathering. On the menu was a pizza/taco dip buffet spread for $200 dollars from the Heartland Catering Company.

This had to be huge? Was a new developer coming to the neighborhood?

Well, it was huge, but don't count on this new development being in our Alderman's plans.

This was a Town Hall meeting to inform his constituents he will not back a Wal-Mart being built anywhere in the world.

Alderman Moore said to the crowd of thirty, "The Alderman knows best," as speaking about himself in the third person.

Yes, our 49th Ward Alderman was giving us a Town Hall meeting regarding the state of affairs... the global economy and NO Wal-Mart!!!

His facts, his figures. The quotes from Alderman Moore kept coming, fast and furious. Here are a few.

"Capitalist system unbridled, is not good".....

"Wal-Mart kills neighborhoods"....

" Government is in the pocket of big business"....

"God willing, we will have changes in Washington"....

'We need a Teddy Roosevelt for the 20th century
".... Yes, Alderman Moore said 20th century.

"Big oil, blah, blah, blah....

I got tired of writing the quotes and started watching Helen Carlock demolish the free buffet spread.

Then, Alderman Moore went all out, announcing " bar is open until 7:30.... drinks are on me!"
