* Political Puppet Gets Mad

Corrected Version
Rogers Park 2000, a political propaganda publication put out by Cary Steinbuck, a political science major, sent their staff photographer Cary Steinbuck to the political CAPS beat 2431 meeting Monday night. She also poses as the executive director of RPCDC. Her mission on this evening was to secure a few positive outlook photos of Alderman Moore and Kevin O'Neil performing in front of a captive crowd.

When asked if she would be staying to listen to concerns over Domestic Violence in Rogers Park, a subject which she featured in the headline article and six page spread for the Fall 2005 RP2000 political propaganda publication, Ms. Steinbuck replied in a real nasty tone, " Your attitude sucks.... and put that in your blog"!

Then Ms. Steinbuck stormed out the door in a huff.

Domestic Violence is the number two crime listed as a problem in beat 2431.

Regarding Cary Steinbuck.......you said:

And yours is to get a few negative photos of Morse Ave knuckleheads posted on this Blog for the sake of a half dozen diciples who love to rally round you in order to make you and them feel involved and part of the community?

Hmmmm?

Craig, thanks for helping Cary with her first post on the hellhole. Next time you see her, please let her know that any one of us would be willing to sit with her at her computer and show her how easy it is to contribute, or even start her own blog! After all, lots of people dumber than her are doing it! We would all benefit from her role modelling her superior attitude. Thanks again.

Did she misspell "your" both times while speaking with you?

Oh please.....rogerparker. Give me a break. None of this has anything to do with who anybody likes.

I didn't realize this was a social club. If my words and opinions offend you too bad.

XOXO

PS I certainly don't start the TONE around here!

I hope there were some other constructive things discussed at the meeting. Sorry I missed it- I was under the weather.

Did she really say that? wow. Some people get riled up so easily. I see what you are doing as trying to help the community- I don't get why they don't see that.

and Charlie: are you saying we that post here are NOT involved in the community? That's just hogwash from what I've seen. We here don't just post comments. We attend meetings, write petitions and letters, pick up litter, hang flyers, call the police when needed, and many many other things.

and you've gotta admit that little scene has some entertainment value too.

peace out

OK I take it back....we are all doing are own part in our own way!

OK?

PS..I know some of you but would like to meet you all in person. Why not show up tomorrow night at Morseland and support the winners of rogerspark.com's 2nd annual photo contest Awards/Benefit and help raise some $$ for Family Matters....Get Local!

Hope to see you there!

PEACE

Man I feel like MJH when I say that but I mean it.

I will try and stop by after the meeting I am going to at the Alderman's office ;o)

I had it on the calender- I voted too. If I'm there I'll introduce myself, but you might remember me- I used to bring my dashchund to Rogers Bark sometimes. He loved your store- he still tries to go in after all this time when we walk by.

I would love it and... Family Matters...well... matters.

I don't take anything here personally... I hope the rest of you don't either.

Viva la RP!

Hi Sally

you said: Domestic violence needs to be addressed. This is national domestic violence awareness month. Lip service with a few columns in the community council newsletter isn't going to fix the problem. Why didn't the police want to talk about this last night?

Lip service with a few columns in the community council newsletter isn't going to fix the problem.

What will? Is the article just lip service or is raising the issue and awareness?

What dou you think?

Charlie Didrickson said...

Hi Sally,

You asked: why didn't the police want to talk about domestic violence issue last night?

I don't know the answer to that. Hell, I don't claim to have the answer to most questions.

Domestic violence is a problem unlike any other. It usually happens behind closed doors and is often not reported to the police for many reasons.

I do know that when RP2000 and other publications raise the issue it may just bring the problem to light and encourage those most affected to seek help.

I can't find too much criticism in that and I don't know too many people who will disagree.

Hope you can make the Awards/Benefit tomorrow night.

Thanks for your comment.

I have one last question on this topic and it is for Craig. You posted that Cary stated, " Your attitude sucks.... and put that in your blog"! Is that the full content of the conversation or was there more? I would be interested to know the full content and context of the exchange if there were.

I prefer the edgy, raw energy of the original uncorrected version.
