Hold on. Here's a good news story. Don't see many of these, do we? I had to help on this one. Oh well, self generated news.
I would like to thank local artist Tara from eidolon art studio for her help in transforming one of our companies new honor boxes into a work of art.
These honor boxes are used to pass out our publication at various corners and el stops in the city. We have around 50 of them on the street at any given moment. Sometimes they get vandalized, sometimes stolen. (Let's hope that doesn't happen to these artist boxes!) Still, every newspaper and magazine uses this method to get their news out. I wanted to make the new honor boxes for our 30th anniversary stand out.
I got the idea to do something a bit different from all the other boxes you see lining the sidewalks. Using the Cows on Parade theme, I rounded up some artists to create their own themed honor box. Tara told me she was happy for the opportunity.
Here is Tara's finished box. It's located at North Avenue and Wells Street in front of Second City. Another Rogers Park artist, our own Daisy Duke created a box too. Her's is located at Aldine and Broadway.

Nice!
Tara - that looks awesome!
Craig - Good idea to give some creativity to something we pass by so frequently on the street.
