* Glenwood Avenue Lights Turned Back On
Over the weekend I reported a lighting outage in from 6950 N - 7000 N on West Glenwood.
Four street lights had been malfunctioned (broken/not working) for over two weeks. I called 311 in the beginning, like a basic person would do.
And waited. And waited.
Let's flashback. At the very beginning of the week, Monday to be exact, this was again reported to Kevin O'Neil the CAPS Beat 2431 facilitator and the Alderman's office assistant at a CAPS meeting. That's what O'Neil preaches, "go to CAPS meetings and report problems"! So I did.
At the meeting both looked shocked (O'Neil and Lopez) we had a lighting problem that would last that long. A CAPS officer in attendance also acknowledged the lighting was indeed out.
O'Neil and the Alderman's assistant say they would look into it right away. Apparently O'Neil was busy gossiping about what people are wearing or eating on the CTA. Apparently Alderman Moore is still busy trying to round up supporters for has ban on foie gras.
So, after the problem was featured on the Hell Hole, on weekend time, the lighting was turned back on, before Monday's commute.
But still it is worrisome, at the CAPS meeting Kevin O'Neil found time to praise the property owner Mr. Block on the lighting he installed on the west end of the building. "This area was getting safer", said O'Neil. Others disagree.
Kevin O'Neil, we know you lurk, other than the street lights that now are working, do you see any lighting on the west side of the Block building in this photograph? Were you just going to take his word for it the lights were indeed installed?
Kevin O'Neil, Mr. Block also promised to show up at the CAPS meetings, but didn't. Where was that on your Block notes?
All these broken promises. You play cover up for this slumlord. Is that what CAPS stands for? Coverup-Area-Problems!
