* Alderman Caught Cat-Napping in Loyola Fieldhouse

I got an e-mail from a loyal reader who heard from three different women who went to the self-defense class on Saturday that Alderman Moore was seen sleeping in the back of the room!

I called Toni who confirmed the Alderman's eyes were indeed closed for a long period of time during yesterday's woman's mid-day "Learn to Fight Back" event. Toni had a few other things to say on the record and more things to say off the record.

* Toni questioned why a man was even at such an event designed "just for the ladies"?

* Toni questioned why the original fliers Impact and Toni designed were changed to pink fliers featuring the Alderman's name as the major sponsor?

* Toni questioned why Family Matters decided to get involved when they were originally un-interested in getting involved?

* Toni questioned .... oops, I almost started on the off the record goodies.

holers-

a few things. i don't know about the family matters involvement, so i won't comment on it. as far as the cat napping, my partner was there, probably sitting very close to paradise and she did not see that happen. i'm not at all saying it couldn't happen to anyone, but there doesn't seem to be proof yet.

it seems to me that the alderman can't catch an even break. he co sponsored this great seminar, posted it on his website and as far as i know, stayed for the whole event. that counts for a lot in my book. i don't know why the flyer color was changed, but by eva mcann's account, there were 67 women there. i'm not sure the color of the flyer deterred anyone from showing up.

beside the alderman, my partner counted 2 men that were in the room. 1 was a dad who brought his young daughter.the other was a young women's partner. their presence did not seem to negatively affect the other women from participating, from the accounts that i heard. i happen to believe that kind of mutual support is more beneficial than harmful.

Everyone knows I'm no fan of the Alderman, but I could understand it if he had been a bit tired that day. He may have been staying up late, night and day, awaiting results from Tuesday's Primary Election that had yet to be tabulated due to the utter incompetence of Moore's mentor, Cook County Clerk David Orr.

The only good thing about the voting mess was that after telling everyone for more than two decades that David Orr is administratively inept, people now see my point (unfortunately, the hard way).

"slightly out of context" would be an accurate "quote" of what Craig said Toni said because someone else (who did not attend) told Craig via some form of communication that three other people said...."___, ___, ____"
