* Fellow Cook County Commissioner Speaks

Greetings!
This past week, the County was told the unfortunate news that President Stroger had suffered a stroke. I wish him a speedy recovery and he and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Even though President Stroger is ill, we are still facing an important election with a simple choice: do we think that Cook County is heading in the right direction or do we need change?

Many voters have been asking...what happens if President Stroger wins and is unable to continue in public service? If he resigns before the general election, the ward and township committeemen from throughout Cook County will select the new nominee. Should our next Cook County Board President be elected by the people or by a select few?

I think the answer to both of these questions is quite clear. We need change and the voters of Cook County deserve the opportunity to select their democratic nominee. We need Forrest Claypool.

In order to ensure victory on Tuesday, we need your help to get the message out.

We need you to volunteer one hour on Election Day or volunteer a few hours in a phone bank. At the very least, I ask that you call or email five of your friends and remind them to vote on Tuesday.

You can also send a friend an email from Forrest Claypool's Website.

****Phone Banks*****

The phone banks will be: Sunday 12-8pm; Monday 5-9pm; Tuesday 5-7pm at various locations downtown and on the Northside.

If you can help even for an hour, we need your help! Please contact Cheryl or call 773-271-9500 for more information.

*****Election Day*****

We also need volunteers on election day to make phone calls, give rides to the polls, and distribute literature at the polling places.

Thank you for all you are doing, it means a lot to me. I am just asking that for the next few days you give a little more time, a little more effort, and in a few days we can begin to reform Cook County.

Sincerely,

Mike Quigley
