* Hit & Run on North Ashland

Regular Reader Submitted Story

I got home from work right after the wreck happened. My neighbors tell me there were two guys driving the Lincoln, which played bumper cars on Ashland Avenue until they hit the last two cars and tree.

They got out and bolted without anyone getting a description.

I assume the car was stolen as a result of their actions, and the fact that one of my neighbors said they found a title on the ground for a new car. It looks like an unmarked police car, which is probably the stupidest thing they could have stolen, but whatever.

This occurred outside of 6616 N. Ashland just before 8 pm. The police did not arrive until 30 minutes later, as witnessed by myself.

When they arrived, they towed the Lincoln, and "repositioned" the other cars, while kicking pieces of wreckage under nearby cars.

Not sure what the owners are going to think when they come out to find their cars wrecked with no one around. Just wanted to let you know.

Regular reader. Keep up the good work,
J.W.
