Poor little Shannon. She just can't keep her trap shut. Just in case she wants to delete it on her blog, here's the beginning of her out-look of us in Rogers Park. It's titled Road Rage.
"I would like to further my "racist" commentary about Rogers Park on which I originally received an obscene amount of emails.
People driving in, through, or around Rogers Park drive like complete and total morons. @ssholes, really."
Blognotes: Can you say "Anger Management" Shannon? Full text and clip art here.

Don't we have better things to do than bitch and moan about someone's comment about poor drivers (or driver's as Craig would write...) in Rogers Park? What about the prostitution on Clark or the hordes of young black men lurking on corners and intimidating people? What happened to picking on the Alderman or developers? Where did the wheels fall off the bus?
By the way, Rogers Park DOES have more than our fair share of bad drivers. Just look around you at the demographics of the neighborhood. We have more immigrants from countries where driving is less rules-based and more of a show of machismo and class. West Africa, the Indies, Mexico,India and Pakistan - all have some of the worst traffic and poorest driver's education systems in the world. The consequence is there are just more of them in Rogers Park than almost anywhere else in the city. Our neighborhood has a well-deserved reputation for bad driving. People forget that diversity has negative consequences as well as positive benefits.
We also have a lot of lazy people in Rogers Park who are too lazy to walk the half-block to the street corner where there is a signal for pedestrians. I see this more in Rogers Park than anywhere else.
There were a few comments on cyclists, too. They have a right to the whole lane and should act no different than a motorist. This means stopping at lights, signaling, etc. Lots of cyclists, myself included, take advantage of the rights and ignore the responsibilities.
Let's get back to the real problems of Rogers Park. The first of these is crime -- everything else follows. Once crime is reduced, economic and social neighborhood development follows in time. Property values will rise, and more people who have the means to own their homes and care about the community will move here.
i AGREE that we have some royal pains in the ass on our streets around here.
However,
have you ever tried to get from your parking space to the door of the Target superstore without getting plowed down by a tiny woman in a hummer wearing giant Jackie-O sunglasses whilst chatting like a yappy dog on her cell?
I would like to pull those people out of their cars and kick them silly.
I continue to be surprised that readers of Craig's blog are so willing to judge (read: attack) without owning up to who they really are! Why is it that those who post don't have "profiles"? How I would love to go around proselytizing without any link to who I am! Who are “Julie” and “Jeff O”? Why does “LadyonFarwell” have so much free time to post blog comments? Shouldn’t Julie be seeking out more important conspiracies? Maybe LoF should look into being a dating coach since she has insight into why I’m not married?
Forgive me if I cannot publish absurd comments on my blog during the workday. Contrary to the above-mentioned neighbors, I am actually contributing to the local economy. My baby daddy/parents/brother is not supporting me and therefore I do not have all day to moderate blog comments from people I don’t know (or people I do, for that matter!). How silly of me to write about a personal frustration on my own blog… Mine is just my thoughts on the inane daily experiences I have: nothing more. It is not even close to Craig's hard-hitting journalistic style!
There are certainly bigger issues out there and I encourage Craig’s readers to continue to seek those out. My first suggestion would be to Julie to find a job to support herself and concurrently take some spelling, or at the very least, typing courses. To further that, Jeff O. might want to seek some drug counseling due to his James Frey-like ramblings, as in my novice opinion; he could be one of the men hanging out on one of the corners mentioned by “Rogers Resident”.
Friends, let’s all rally to help these neighbors. I’ll do the driving, though…
