* A Night of Walking

Last nights 'Night of Walks' began with a CeaseFire Walk/March/Rally/Ground Cleansing/Circle Prayer. The attendance was dismal. Other than the usual players, there were less than a half dozen neighbors involved. I must admit, I do draw tears every gosh darn time we circle pray over a senseless shooting. FYI CeaseFire, I could do with-out the ground cleansing routine. Seems a bit overboard.

As we were heading to the next walk, the newest guy running for Alderman, his sidekick Frankie and I came across this sign covering up a 'No Parking' Sign. Can you imagine if someone gets towed over this stupid promotional stunt? What excuse would they use? What idiot would do such a thing covering a no-parking sign? Parking is at a premium someone could get caught short or shot. Heck, the CeaseFire event we just attended was over a alleged parking space. Someone shot someone over a parking spot.

The CAPS Beat 2431 walk had about a dozen walkers and a few dogs as you can see. A couple of notes. Our beat facilitator Kevin O'Neil got to witness first hand the look-outs of the Block building. These are part the security force the gangs have in controlling the building.

The alleged (so I'm told by a source) Ashland Viking Nation (AVN gang) made a open air drug market sales right in front of the CAPS walkers at Morse Avenue, between Wayne and Lakewood on the south side of the street. 911 was called at 7:52 p.m with the descriptions of the salesman and his big bodyguard/ringleader. The gang grew in size to about a half dozen as we watched them in front of Morse Gyros at 8:00p.m. as no police arrived. Kevin O'Neil suggested we go across the street and disrupt the activity at 8:04 p.m. One walker said the gangs were laughing at us. The walker said they gangs were snubbing their noses at us. At 8:05 p.m the gang started to disperse like they knew someone was coming. Almost like they got tipped off. At 8:06p.m a undercover car drove by. At 8:10p.m. another CAPS walk ended.

Hey moron, before you accuse people of being on the take, ever think that the assholes have scanners or lookouts with nextel phones. If bloggers have scanners, why cant gangbangers.

Oh, by the way. I was at the block building a lot, last night and every mutt said they lived there or were visiting somebody. Without a manager or owner to establish who belongs and who doesnt and to sign complaints, there isnt much po po can do.
The building is defintely a budding new jack city.

I just made a commont on what was reported the comment in the story was "Almost as if they where tipped off" Which reminded me of the officers that have been convicted. If you want to call me a moron go ahead. My uncle must have been a bigger moron since he was one of the attorneys working for the feds on the case that put the these gentlemen in jail.

I support the police very much. I am sure that you being a good officer want to see people who disgarce officers like yourself off the force.

Julie thank you for understanding where I was comeing from. As I have said I support the police, but as in any job there are people who do not play by the rules. When you see what is going on in some areas or tye lack of what is going on, it makes you question things, NOT ACCUSE just ask a question.

Thanks again!
