This possum decided to camp on my back staircase last night. It's not that I haven't seen one before, I've never seen one so close to my back door. After my dog Cota started barking, the little rodent froze up and wouldn't move.

Before my latest cat became part of the family, she was an alley cat with two feral kittens. She began to trust me when I always fed her and lo and behold brought the kittens up too. One night I looked out and the babies had brought a baby like this one to share their meal. They're not the prettiest creatures, but I don't think they're mean.
