I believe with all the negative attention you have brought yourself, you'll be working in the private sector.Maybe you can work go to all the ducks who's lives you saved. To bad your contributor didn't have his slum building up to code, maybe those children might be alive today!!
I think this tells us something about what Moore has available to defend himself - raw hostility, devoid of reason.
I don't disagree. That is certainly the appearance. However the quote lacks context and, for all we know, the entire conversation could provide even more cannon fodder. I'd sure like to know what led up to that quote.
Joe has long been incapable of taking any kind of criticism or reproach. Instead of sucking it up like the rest of us do when admonished by customers or bosses, he lashes out. It shows a lack of professionalism and an immaturity that is dismaying in someone of his age. If Joe worked at my company his behavior would get him fired.
Joe fails to recognize that he works for the residents of this ward. WE pay his salary. And because he is incapable of recognizing who his bosses and customers are, he needs to go irrespective of what Craigie said to him and irrespective of how much of an ass or whatever agenda the bloggist may have. A professional sucks it up and takes the heat like a man. Those who can't take the heat should not be in the kitchen playing with our fire.

And we all know that if you're in the kitchen playing with fire, you're going to get burned, regardless of whether or not you live in a glass house. The first burn is the deepest -- deeper than beauty, which is only skin deep in the eye of the beholder.
judging by the anger I've sensed and witnessed from the Alderman's office staff and himself towards certain individuals who tend to be perceived as (let's say) rabblerousers or instigators, I feel pretty certain this did happen as Craig says.
