Anti-hunger and minimum-wage advocates joined local and state officials to call for more anti-hunger resources and raising state minimum wage at the Good News Community Kitchen on Chicago's north side. Members of the Northside Anti-Hunger Network (NAHN) and Interfaith Worker Justice were joined by 49th ward Alderman Joe Moore, State Representative Harry Osterman and Illinois United Church of Christ Conference Minister, Rev. Jane Fisler-Hoffman to "Make Hunger History in Chicago."
They are also asking the city of Chicago to raise ten cents for anti-hunger programs for every dollar it raises for special projects such as Millenium Park or the campaign to host the 2016 Olympic games.
WBBM Newsradio's Debra Dale reports.
