* Residents Flee Rogers Park (49th Ward) to Shop Elsewhere

Thanksgiving is now officially over and it's holiday shopping time. It's Mad Friday. Or Black Friday. Or Crazy Friday, whatever the marketing agencies are calling it this year. It's the biggest shopping day of the year.

According to a 2004 survey conducted by DevCorp North, 96 percent of residents said they prefer to shop outside of Rogers Park. That's more than 9 in 10. Why is that? Because our current Alderman's policies have run most all the decent businesses out of the ward.

Statistics have shown that although Rogers Park residents have high-spending power (more than $114,806,537 per square mile, far more than the citywide average), most of that money goes to business outside of the neighborhood. Last year alone, businesses in the area lost more than $700 million to businesses in other districts.

Thank you very much Alderman Moore.
