The 'Broken Heart' of Rogers Park turns two years old today. That's 980 blogs. As I've been looking back at how large the site has grown over the past couple of years, I want to thank all the readers and commenters for spending a few minutes each day following what goes on right under our noses in Rogers Park. Some may not like the smell, but that's how Rogers Park is.
I also want to thank the many contributors over the past two years. Let's begin with Michael Harrington, who use to post information here. Since joining the 'other guy's campaign, we've kinda scared him off, now he's gone back to posting on the old forum. James Gindriske, helped out as he wrote the 'James Report' for awhile, then gave up to run for Alderman. Hugh and Julie Seagraves still contributes now and then - and I want to give them a big thanks. If you haven't noticed, I have a new contributor, Global Cop. His You-Tube video on Morse Avenue nightlife exploded on the scene this week with over 550 viewers. Amazing.
Back to the quotes. I've been featuring quotes from the commenters the last few day's. Here's one that was left on Flickr, the photo server I first used. This site also has drawn in the younger readers. You can read this quote by clicking the 'Broken Heart' logo on the top of the page. Over 5200 people have.

Blognotes: Oh, I forgot to thank the most important people of all. The leaders that made me start this blog-site in the first place. Those who have neglected the 49th ward and Rogers Park to the point where the inmates run the show. Those who wouldn't return a initial phone call on a problem or return a basic email response in a timely fashion. Without deadbeats like Alderman Moore, Kimberly Bares, Cary Steinbuck, Kevin O'Neil, any ZULAC member, Mr. Coe, Mr. Block turned Harold Rider, Jay Johnson, any SSA commissioners and TIF supporters, I wouldn't have material to cover. Did I forget anyone?
