Is that the plan Alderman Moore?
The city is holding another gun turn-in program this weekend, but our city official - Alderman Moore (49th ward) is too busy giving away free movie tickets (see blog post below) and third world health coverage. Alderman Moore doesn't have time to help promote this citywide gun-buy back program.
Where is the Rogers Park gun drop off location Alderman Moore? How are the chior boys going to way to make a buck for the holiday season? They must be singing the blues. Over a dozen churches are involved thoughout the city Alderman Moore, where's ours? Did you forget when it was Alderman Moore? Well Alderman Moore, it's runs Saturday from 10 am until 2 pm.
Blognotes: In April there was a gun turn in program at West Ridge Community Methodist Church in Rogers Park. This is what aldermanic candidate James Ginderske said....
"The police at CAPS mocked the suggestion.
The Alderman at the Ceasefire meeting called it a "publicity stunt".
The 'Broken Heart', Cease Fire, ONE, CPD Sgt. Clark, really the whole ceasefire meeting-thought it was a great idea. Sgt. Clark was the one who first told us it was planned. Apparently the DAC was aware of it too. How come the CAPS crew didn't even know about it when it was suggested in the 2431 meeting?
The bottom line is that 106 weapons were removed from our neighborhood. That is a good thing. But how many more could have been gotten if Howard Area, Northside POWER, ONE, Ceasefire, the 'Broken Heart', the other blogs, the Good News Kitchen, etc. had been given time to fundraise for increased payouts and to saturate the neighborhood with flyers?"

I'm all for attacking Joe Moore every chance you can, but gun turn-ins are a joke and a publicity stunt. You'd have more to slam Moore for (and probably would) if he had jumped on this bandwagon of an empty gesture.
I don't even know who this Ginderske guy is, but I give him credit for calling it like it is on this matter.
Want to clear the thugs off the streets, allow honest citizens to carry concealed handguns like the vast majority of U.S. states allow currently.
Gun buy-backs, heh. I didn't think anyone was even stupid enough to still stage these farces.
