* Attention Aldermanic Candidates

Special Service Area Tax #24 Meeting

Oops, that's the spanish version flyer. Let me translate it for you. On Tuesday, January 9th, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the No-Exit Cafe, located at 6970 North Glenwood, the Special Service Area #24 commisioners are holding the annual meeting.

This is a must attend event for the candidates and their handlers. This is a chance to witness the open process DevCorp North operates under.

Find out what happend to the $25,000 in taxpayer money that when to providing security in 2005? This would be a good time for DevCorp North to release the $25,000 secuity log that the company provided to DevCorp North after they finished their three month tour of duty.

While DevCorp North is being so transparent with the community, here's more Information Ms. Bares should bring to the meeting.
(* Hint: Please make plenty of copies for everyone.)

* Ask about the high administration fees and kickbacks to DevCorp North such as the equipment the taxpayers buy, but don't own. ei; pressure washer, tractor, sidewalk sweeper, rents, oh and Mark Semons new pick-up truck.

* Ask about where the money is coming from to buy a new storefront on Morse Avenue. ei: Kimberly Bares new home.

* Ask to see the full line by line item income and expense reports from 2004, 2005 and 2006.

* The 2007 line for line Special Service Area tax budget. Not the condensed 'fool the public' version.
'Broken' Banner Project

* Ask why the banners are NOT promoting any local business advertising other than the Special Service Area tax #24 and DevCorp North. That's the only logos I see on the banners. Not one banner has a business name on them. How much did that cost the taxpayers to brand a DevCorp North slogan?

* Ask why the costly, (yet poorly made) banners that haven't even been up a year are already falling apart at the seams. Like the one shown in the above photograph.

If anyone else has any other questions, bring those along too. This should be a informational meeting to say the least. Unlike the flyer, I hope they translate the meeting in english!

Ask how a not-for-profit neighborhood storefront agency that gets its funding from administering City contracts can afford to build out a new construction world headquarters.

Why no endorsement Hugh? Are you supporting Bernie Stone again?
