* 49th Ward Residents Beware

A 'Broken Heart' EXCLUSIVE

Maybe you've heard of the horror stories regarding Alderman Moore and his political canvassers over the last few weeks.

* Dan Sullivan with LAMS Property Management had to call 911 in order to have a Citizens for Joe Moore door to door canvasser removed from his property. The rude canvasser got belligerent with both Mr. Sullivan and the police.

* My neighbor and I had to tell a SEIU worker to stop pestering our multi-unit condo residents. He somehow magically entering our common area, then went knocking on each and every door. He gave us a crock of shit, saying, "it was his First Amendment right - to knock on doors".

* One neighbor, who told Chris Adams a story about Alderman Moore's campaign door to door goons knocked so many times, he had to call the Alderman's office to tell him to stop the harassment. The Alderman retaliated and sent the police to his home, warning the resident, he was pestering the Alderman.

* Blake A. said Alderman Moore's troops were going door to door into the high-rise student housing on Loyola without permission.

Now this one is so shocking, it'll make you never let one of his people near your door - EVER AGAIN.

On Sunday, March 25th around 6:30PM, a young lady answered a knock on her door and was greeted by a not so friendly citizens for Joe Moore political canvasser. The lady, who will remain anonymous, did not buzz the person in the 78 unit complex, but answered her door anyhow.

After a little small talk, the political canvasser for Joe Moore allegedly started thrusting himself on the young lady and allegedly sexually 'dry humped' the resident once he felt comfortable enough to do so. She was able to free herself and quickly close the door, leaving him in the hallway. This alleged predatory sexual assault lasted all of 45 seconds.

The frightened resident called the police and a incident report was made. The victim asked the manager for copies of the security tape to identify the perp, but the management cameras weren't recording at the time.

Gina Mueller, manager of the apartment complex in question, verified this story, adding, "he [Alderman Moore] even called the victim to apologize profusely for the terrible incident. The victim is embarrassed and a shamed by the ordeal." said Mueller.

* Not confirmed is if the citizens for Moore campaign worker was released from his door to door duties of attempting to molest 49th ward residents while campaigning for Alderman Moore. If so, why wasn't there a official press release regarding this dangerous community situation?

* Why wasn't a police report and arrest made? Is this another way for Alderman Moore to keep crime numbers down?

* Did the Alderman offer the victim something to stay silent on this hideous act of perversion?

* Did the Alderman intimidate this resident in some way or another to cover up for a alleged sexual predator?

This is way too serious of a offense to simply sweep under the rug and hope no one notices.

Residents, beware of Alderman Moore's canvassers for the next five days.

Sadly, many women do not report these incidents at all. They're afraid of a return visit, further intimidation and the embarassment of it all. In our unprogressive society, it's generally the woman's fault - or that's how defense attorney's spin it.

At least she reported the 'incident' I wonder why it went no further? Unfortunately, if the victim doesn't pursue the matter, the CPD can't do much. We read about it all the time in cases of battered women. They'll call for help but not follow through and press charges. The batterer continues knowing he has the power to beat the woman. He'll apologize, bring gifts, lose it and the cycle begins again.

Same pattern follows through with any pervert.

just curious... how do you know that the canvasser was actually working for Moore? I am not saying he wasn't, but it would seem that this person may have been pretending that he was part of the Moore campaign in order to get access into people's apartments.

I hope you are passing these fascinating tidbits into the true nature of the Moore campaign to all of those naive outsiders that Lying Joe has been recruiting to do tesitmonials on his behalf in this race. I think it's only fair for them to know about the Alderliar as possible.

Community Development Updates
04/11/2007

Dear Neighbors,

I wanted to provide you with an update on a number of the more prominent development projects across the 49th Ward. All the projects now underway were subject to a thorough community review process even if the project required no zoning change. Any future projects will be subject to that same extensive process. If you have any questions, please call my staff assistant, Michael Land, at the 49th Ward Service Office at 773-338-5796.

Sincerely,

Joe Moore

CLARK STREET
New Fire Station, 7340 N. Clark Street

Demolition of the existing structures on this site is scheduled to begin next week according to the Public Building Commission, and construction of our new $8.4 million fire station will begin after building permits are issued. The Public Building Commission has said the new state-of-the-art fire station will be completed by late Summer 2008. It will replace the aging facility at 1723 W. Greenleaf, which was constructed at the turn of the last century, when fire equipment was pulled by horses.

More details available from the Chicago Public Building Commission
http://www.pbcchicago.com/subhtml/project_detail.asp?txtPRJ_ID=FS-06

Former Clark Mega Mall Site, 7212 N. Clark Street

The property was recently sold and the new owner bought the Mega Mall business out of its remaining lease. The new owner is planning to demolish the existing structure and build a residential or a mixed residential and commercial development on the site. He has no specific plans at this time. The 49th Ward Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee and I will be meeting with the new owner later this Spring to discuss the property, and any proposed use of the site will be subject to a complete and thorough community review process.

Former Adelphi Theater Site, 7070-7078 N. Clark / 1767 W. Estes (Clark and Estes)

Construction is scheduled to begin later this year on a 32-unit, five-story mixed residential and commercial development that will include four affordable condominium units monitored by the CPAN program . Start of the project was delayed because the project required two zoning variations from the Zoning Board of Appeals to allow for the construction of a clock tower and to narrow a gap on Clark Street between the new development and the existing building to its south. The Zoning Board of Appeals approved the zoning variations last month and the project is now in permit review.

HOWARD STREET
Former Lerner Newspaper Building Site, 7519 N. Ashland (Howard and Ashland)

The current owner of the site failed to develop the property as promised. Last Fall, I asked the City of Chicago to begin the process of acquiring the property by eminent domain. The City issued a Request for Proposals, seeking development proposals for the site. Two proposals were submitted, and the 49th Ward Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee and I will be working with the City to evaluate the proposals to determine their viability. Any proposed development will be subject to a complete and thorough community review process.

Former Chicago Discount Cleaners Site, 1523-35 W. Howard
A five-story building containing ground floor commercial space and 28 condominium units will be constructed on this site, which will also include the current Howard Tire Store and several vacant storefronts. The developer has indicated that the project is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2009.

MORSE AVENUE
Former Morseview Drugstore Site, 1444-46 W. Morse

Construction has begun on a six-story, mixed-use building at the northeast corner of Morse and Greenview. It will feature 12 condominiums, some of them duplexes. It will include one CPAN unit. Rogers Park's economic development corporation, DevCorp North, will locate its offices on the ground and mezzanine floors.

Top Hat Lounge Site, 1412-16 W. Morse

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in August 2007 on a new five-story, 16-unit condominium building at the current site of the Top Hat Lounge. Demolition permits have been issued and the building permit is in review. The building will contain a restaurant/coffee shop on the first floor.

And what about the failed process for the new wine and cheese store on Jarvis. All was promised by Joe in a public meeting for May and now it may be fall if ever.

I sent it to the producers this morning.

A) Voter contact is protected by the First Amendment. Unlawful entry is not; any occurances should be reported to police.

B) You are only serving to perpetuate this woman's embarrasment by sensationalizing the story. Maybe you should just get back to politicizing the deaths of innocent children.

C) So the Alderman calls to apologize for something beyond his control and you fault him? So do you or do you not want accountability? FYI: Moore's office says the canvasser was not on their payroll but was terminated immediately by his employer.

D) So nice to see you all stroking each other verbally, as though anyone who reads this has not yet made up his/her mind. Preacher, meet choir.

Question for all you Moore haters: If Gordon is elected, how long do you give him before you start Gordon-bashing?

Oh boy, I was waiting for a Moore minnion insider to chime in and make it better for Alderman Moore.

* You think I don't know who the slimeball is?

* You think I don't know when this slimeball was released from his duties of canvassing for Alderman Moore?

Please, I've even got the Chicago police RD number. Alderman Moore covered up a alleged crime and you think this is right?

I'm getting mailers from Cicero now. WTF ? Will Joe stop at nothing to saturate, confuse, confound, and intimidate his constituency ?

His canvassers and stooges/goons will do well to stay wall away from me and mine.

It's nice to know that the fire house and all these other nice things are still "scheduled," as they have been for more than a decade. How long will this guy keep selling that bill of good?

I hope joe doesn't get re-elected, but if God forgive he does. Joe will bring out the list of upcomeing projects next time he runs for re-election.

---You can hear Bob Ucher saying"Juuust a little outside!"

I got two yesterday. Yeah, wtf?
It's been a long time since I read Dick Simpson's book on winning elections, but I'm pretty sure there's a part about making sure your mailings go to the area the candidate is running in.

i just got that same list of 49th ward projects ala JM in an Email.

how the heck did JM get my email addy? hmmmm...

and to stay on topic.... truly a scary situation for that poor girl. we should all be wary of strangers knocking on our doors.

According to ACORN, Don is responsible for what his supporters said on a blog. Therefore, Joe is responsible for what one of his campaign workers does while actively working for him.

One can tell a lot about a person by the company he or she keeps.

Awwwww...boo-hoo-hoo...is little Donny Boy sad he doesn't have a real canvass program? Waaaaa! anybody who's worked on a campaign knows that hearing about people being tired of your message is a great sign with a week to go.

RPCommentator: Why would the candidate with better message saturation want to muddle his own message with irrelevant mailers. Your conjectures demonstrate a complete lack of political field work. Thanks for playing, though!

Dr. O: My mind was made up long before I even heard about this blog. It's like pro wrestling; you know it's not real, but it's still fun to watch for a few minutes. Also, it's a great way to keep track of all the wannabe-politicos.

EyesOnEastlake: Moore probably bought an email match list from a vendor; standard practice and a very cheap way to communicate with voters.

CraigGernhart: Wow, what a master sleuth you are! Public records are really hard to...oh, wait. Well, anyway, how does calling to apologize constitute a coverup? I'll be so sad for you when there's nobody to support your lecherous tendencies after the 18th.

Yet another long scandalously written account of something that was addressed by the campaign and Joe M which has been blown up to detract from the issues of the election... oy vey!

Joe is certainly not issue free, but this endless onslaught of self-righteous observers like the cranky chorus of a greek tragedy is certainly not serving very well to illuminate the experience and character of Don Gordon- who has little of the first and next to none of the second, considering the legions of demons he has let loose to do his dirty work because he is not man enough to stand up and sling his own, er, poop! Just his "scared white girl" crime flyer with it's menacing subliminal X Files figure in the back to promote communal racial dread is enough to keep me saying no to Don's far from sunny vision. Ginderske's recent endorsement letter of the Alderman made some strong points that I would like to hear addressed. Would also be nice if people realized that real politics is often based on compromise and choosing to work with people we don't adore for the sake of the common good- but that would be a lot harder than just bitching I guess? It's pretty small to keep kicking somebody like a punching bag for simply making a choice to support a candidate. Enough already. barf

I ran into one of Moore's canvassers last night as I was approaching my apartment building. She was perky and friendly. I saw no need to be rude, even though I don't intend to vote for Moore in the run-off. She spoke about Moore's so-called dedication to Rogers Park in glowing terms before saying, "Let's step inside because it is cold out here." I recognized that she wanted to get into the building to knock on doors. Knowing that few would probably open their doors for her, I let her in.

She asked me a couple of time would my vote be "yes" for Moore. She carried a clipboard which included names of the voters in the area, including mine. Next to the names were Y and N, which I assumed stood for yes or no. Something didn't sit right with me about that, so I told her that I would make up my mind later.

She then mentioned the blog (like yours) that allegedly were giving out "misinformation about Joe". We parted amicably after that, I went upstairs to my apartment. I noticed that she hung around, as she planned to go around knocking on doors. I came out an hour later and noticed she had stuck more of Moore's litter about voting for him under my neighbors' doors.

A couple of others near me have taken to mailing letters (postage no doubt paid for by Moore) talking about what a good alderman he is and begging folks to vote for him. Of course, those letters get trashed by me.
