"If you try to tell him he's not being realistic, he accuses you of being against him."
Rich Miller hit the nail on the head and drove that mother home with his article today. Just exchange the Guv and the Prez and what do you have? A guy named Joe and his toadies.

THINK THE GOVERNOR REALLY HAD A ELECTION GRUDGE AGAINST BUSINESS AS THEY WERE BACKING HIS OPPONENT IN THE GOVERNOR'S RACE-
SO GLAD I DIDN'T TAKE JAN X CON'S PHONE ADVICE AND VOTE FOR HIM==
We BADLY need another Dem candidate for governor.
I'm in no mood to elect a "family values" Repug, or even a moderate Republican, because this is the party of Corporate Welfare on a massive scale, and wars fought for resources while promoting squandering them.
However, I vote Dem while holding my nose, because the Dems have their heads in the sand on the important issues confronting us, not the least being our increasing overhanging economic problems, to which they offer the solution of spending more government money on more wasteful and often destructive programs that are billed as "progressive".
The outstanding example of such a program is Governor Blago's much-touted $1.2 Billion ethonal and biomass development program, which is nothing but a massive farm subsidy program (as though we didn't subsidize agriculture enough) with "green" credentials that will not only NOT solve our mounting energy problems, but will help drive up food prices and produce mass famines down the road, as increasingly scarce farmland is taken out of food production and dedicated to keeping the cars running at ANY COST.
Blago is a Dem machine dirtbag who doesn't count the present, let alone, future cost of "feel good" programs that will not only not solve our worst problems but will vastly aggravate them.
But who will we replace him with? Another Republican like George Ryan, who helped kill a family of 6 in an unnecessary accident while commuting the death sentances of 190 brutal murderers?
Or like the OTHER Ryan?
May the Gods help this country, with the sort of people who make it in politics.
